3. Physical Description

4. Setup Instructions
4.1 Assembling the Phone
- Attach the Stand: Insert the phone stand into the corresponding slots on the back of the phone unit until it clicks into place.
- Connect the Handset: Plug one end of the coiled phone cord into the handset port on the phone unit and the other end into the handset.
- Connect the Network Cable: Plug one end of the Ethernet cable into the INTERNET port on the back of the phone and the other end into a network switch or router.
- Connect to PC (Optional): If you wish to connect a PC through the phone, plug an Ethernet cable from your PC into the PC port on the back of the phone.
4.2 Powering the Phone
The Yealink SIP-T85W supports Power over Ethernet (PoE). A power adapter is not included.
- PoE (Recommended): If your network switch or router supports PoE, the phone will power on automatically once the network cable is connected to the INTERNET port.
- AC Power (Optional): If PoE is not available, you will need to purchase a compatible Yealink power adapter separately. Connect the power adapter to the DC 5V port on the phone and then to a power outlet.
4.3 Initial Configuration (SIP Accounts & Wi-Fi)
Upon first boot, the phone may prompt you for initial setup. Consult your VoIP service provider or network administrator for SIP account details.
- SIP Account Setup: Navigate to Menu > Features > Accounts on the phone's display. Enter the required SIP server address, username, and password provided by your service provider. The phone supports up to 16 SIP accounts.
- Wi-Fi Setup: Navigate to Menu > Basic > Wi-Fi. Enable Wi-Fi, scan for available networks, select your desired network, and enter the password. The phone supports dual-band Wi-Fi 6 (2.4G/5G).
5. Operating Instructions
5.1 Basic Call Functions
- Making a Call:
- Pick up the handset, press the Speakerphone key, or press a line key.
- Enter the phone number using the numeric keypad.
- Press the Send soft key or wait for a few seconds for the call to connect automatically.
- Answering a Call: When the phone rings, pick up the handset, press the Speakerphone key, or press the Answer soft key.
- Ending a Call: Hang up the handset, press the Speakerphone key again, or press the End Call soft key.
- Mute/Unmute: During a call, press the Mute key to mute your microphone. Press it again to unmute.
- Volume Adjustment: Use the Volume keys to adjust the handset, speakerphone, or ringer volume.
5.2 Display Navigation
The 5.5-inch color LCD display provides access to various features and settings. Use the navigation keys (up, down, left, right, OK) to browse menus and select options. Soft keys below the display change functionality based on the current context.
5.3 Bluetooth and Headset Connectivity
- Bluetooth 5.0: Navigate to Menu > Basic > Bluetooth to enable Bluetooth, scan for devices, and pair your Bluetooth headset or mobile phone.
- USB Headset: Connect a compatible USB headset to the USB port on the phone. The phone will automatically detect the headset.
- EHS Headset: For EHS (Electronic Hook Switch) functionality with compatible headsets, connect the EHS adapter to the designated port (if available) and configure it via the phone's menu.
6. Maintenance
- Cleaning: Use a soft, dry cloth to clean the phone's surface and display. Avoid using liquid cleaners or abrasive materials.
