3. Setup
3.1. Battery Charging
Before first use, fully charge the helicopter's lithium-ion battery. Connect the battery to the provided USB charging cable and plug the cable into a suitable USB power source (e.g., computer USB port, USB wall adapter). The charging time is approximately 50 minutes.
3.2. Remote Control Preparation
Install the required batteries (not included) into the remote control. Refer to the remote control's battery compartment for correct polarity. Ensure the remote control is powered off before proceeding.
3.3. Initial Pairing
- Place the helicopter on a flat, level surface.
- Turn on the helicopter's power switch. The indicator lights will flash.
- Turn on the remote control. Move the throttle stick (left stick) fully up, then fully down. The remote control will emit a beep, and the helicopter's indicator lights will become solid, indicating successful pairing.
- Ensure all controls are centered before attempting flight.
4. Operating Instructions
The RC ERA C138 Pro offers a stable and responsive flight experience with multiple features to assist pilots.
4.1. Basic Flight Controls
Familiarize yourself with the remote control layout and basic flight movements:

Figure 1: Multiple Flight Modes. This diagram illustrates the various directional movements the helicopter can perform: rising, declining, flying left or right sideways, and turning left or right.
- Throttle (Left Stick Up/Down): Controls altitude (Rise/Decline).
- Yaw (Left Stick Left/Right): Controls the helicopter's rotation (Turn Left/Turn Right).
- Pitch (Right Stick Up/Down): Controls forward/backward movement.
- Roll (Right Stick Left/Right): Controls left/right sideways movement (Left Side Fly/Right Side Fly).
4.2. One-Click Takeoff and Landing
For ease of use, especially for novice operators, the C138 Pro features one-click takeoff and landing functionality.

Figure 2: One-Click Takeoff/Landing. The image shows the helicopter ascending and descending, highlighting features like barometric altitude hold, brushless motor, and flight endurance.
Press the dedicated one-click takeoff button on the remote control to initiate an automatic ascent to a stable hover. Press the one-click landing button to initiate an automatic controlled descent and landing.
4.3. Optical Flow Positioning and Altitude Hold
The helicopter is equipped with optical flow sensors and a barometric altitude hold system for enhanced stability.

Figure 3: Optical Flow Positioning. This image demonstrates the helicopter's stable flight capabilities due to optical flow positioning and its six-way variable pitch structure, supported by three wind-resistant servos.
These systems work together to maintain the helicopter's position and altitude, making it easier to control and providing a smoother flight experience, especially for hovering.
4.4. Speed Adjustment
The C138 Pro offers multiple flight speeds to suit different skill levels and flying environments.

Figure 4: Three Speed Adjustment. The image displays the remote control's speed switch and a visual representation of the three available flight speeds: Low, Medium, and High, allowing pilots to select based on proficiency.
Use the speed adjustment button on the remote control to cycle through low, medium, and high-speed settings. Start with low speed until you are comfortable with the controls.
4.5. 3D Stunt Mode and One-Click Reverse Flight
For advanced pilots, the C138 Pro supports 3D stunt maneuvers, including one-click reverse flight.

Figure 5: One-Click Reverse Flight Mode. This image shows the helicopter in an inverted position, indicating its capability for reverse flight and stunt maneuvers. It advises practicing in open areas away from crowds.
Activate the 3D stunt mode or one-click reverse flight feature (refer to remote control diagram for specific button) to perform flips, rolls, and inverted flight. Practice these maneuvers in open, clear areas with sufficient space.
4.6. Unrestricted Multi-Directional Flight
Once the flight mode is activated, multi-directional flight can be initiated with a single click, allowing for versatile movement.

Figure 6: Unrestricted Flight. The image illustrates the helicopter's ability to move freely in various directions, emphasizing its versatile flight capabilities once the flight mode is engaged.
5. Maintenance
5.1. Cleaning
Regularly clean the helicopter with a soft, dry cloth. Avoid using solvents or harsh chemicals that could damage the plastic components or electronics.
5.2. Blade Inspection
Before and after each flight, inspect the main and tail blades for any signs of damage, cracks, or deformities. Replace damaged blades immediately using the provided spare parts and tools (screwdriver, hex wrench).
5.3. Battery Care
Store batteries in a cool, dry place. Do not overcharge or over-discharge the battery. If the helicopter will not be used for an extended period, charge the battery to approximately 50% capacity before storage.
6. Troubleshooting
If you encounter issues with your RC ERA C138 Pro, refer to the following common problems and solutions:
| Problem | Possible Cause | Solution |
|---|---|---|
| Helicopter does not respond to remote control. | Not paired, remote control batteries low, helicopter battery low. | Re-pair the helicopter and remote control. Replace remote control batteries. Charge helicopter battery. |
| Helicopter flies erratically or drifts. | Blades damaged, calibration issue, strong wind. | Inspect and replace damaged blades. Re-calibrate the helicopter (refer to remote control manual for calibration steps). Fly in calm conditions. |
| Short flight time. | Battery not fully charged, old battery, aggressive flying. | Ensure battery is fully charged. Consider replacing old batteries. Fly more conservatively. |
| Motor not spinning. | Battery disconnected, motor obstruction, electronic fault. | Check battery connection. Remove any obstructions from the motor/blades. If problem persists, contact support. |
