Setup

1. Attaching Casters

Insert the four swivel casters into the designated slots on the bottom of the vacuum tank until they click securely into place. Ensure all casters are firmly attached for stable movement.

2. Filter Installation

The ECOMAX dust extractor uses different filters for wet and dry applications.

  • For Dry Vacuuming: Install the HEPA filter onto the motor housing. For fine dust collection, also insert a disposable filter bag into the tank, ensuring the opening aligns with the hose inlet.
  • For Wet Vacuuming: Remove the HEPA filter and disposable filter bag. Install the foam filter over the motor housing. The foam filter protects the motor from liquids.

Operating Instructions

1. General Operation

Plug the vacuum into a standard 120V AC outlet. Use the large water-resistant ON/OFF switch located on the top of the unit to power the vacuum on or off.

2. Dry Vacuuming

Ensure the HEPA filter and a disposable filter bag are correctly installed. Use appropriate dry vacuuming accessories. The powerful 6.5 HP motor provides strong suction for efficient dust and debris collection.

3. Wet Vacuuming

Before wet vacuuming, remove the HEPA filter and disposable filter bag, and install the foam filter. Do not use the disposable filter bag for wet pickup. When the tank is full, the float mechanism will automatically shut off suction. To empty liquids, use the built-in drain port at the bottom of the tank.

4. Power Tool Activation (PTA)

The vacuum features a Power Tool Activation outlet. Connect your power tool (e.g., sander, saw, planer) to this outlet. When the power tool is switched on, the vacuum will automatically start, capturing dust and debris as you work. The vacuum will turn off shortly after the power tool is switched off. This feature is ideal for maintaining a clean work area during woodworking and other tasks.

5. Semi-Automatic Filter Cleaning

This vacuum is equipped with a semi-automatic filter cleaning system. When the dust-full indicator illuminates or suction power decreases, activate the filter cleaning function by pressing the designated button. This action dislodges dust from the HEPA filter, restoring suction efficiency without manual intervention.

Maintenance

1. Filter Maintenance

  • HEPA Filter: Regularly check the HEPA filter for excessive dust buildup. Use the semi-automatic cleaning function as needed. For thorough cleaning, remove the filter and gently tap it to dislodge dust, or use a soft brush. Replace the HEPA filter periodically based on usage and condition.
  • Foam Filter: After wet vacuuming, remove and rinse the foam filter with water. Allow it to air dry completely before reinstallation or storage.
  • Disposable Filter Bags: Replace disposable filter bags when full or when suction power is noticeably reduced.

2. Tank Cleaning

Empty the tank after each use, especially after wet vacuuming. Rinse the tank with water and wipe it dry to prevent mold and odors. Ensure the tank is completely dry before storing or switching back to dry vacuuming.

3. Hose and Accessory Care

Inspect the hose and accessories for blockages or damage. Clear any obstructions. Store the hose and accessories using the integrated accessory holders and cord wrap design to prevent damage and keep them organized.
