- Do not use a power drill for installation.

- DO NOT install the batteries before installing the lock.

5. Setup & Installation
5.1 Pre-Installation Checks
Before starting, ensure your door meets the following requirements:
- Door Thickness: 1 3/8" to 2 1/4" (35mm to 57mm)
- Backset: 2 3/8" or 2 3/4"
- Hole in Door Face: 2 1/8" diameter
- Hole in Door Edge: 1" diameter

5.2 Mechanical Installation
- Adjust the Deadbolt Latch: If necessary, adjust the deadbolt latch to match your door's backset (60mm or 70mm). Rotate the bolt to extend or shorten it. Ensure the word "TOP" on the latch faces upward.
- Install the Deadbolt Latch: Insert the adjusted deadbolt latch into the door edge. Secure it with the provided screws from the accessory kit.
- Install the Exterior Assembly: Ensure the cylinder tailpiece is horizontal. Route the cable from the exterior assembly through the hole below the bolt. Carefully align the exterior assembly with the deadbolt latch and press it onto the door.
- Install the Interior Assembly Mounting Plate: Route the cable through the bottom hole of the mounting plate. Align the mounting plate with the exterior assembly and secure it using the appropriate screws (Screws D) for your door thickness.
- Connect the Interior Assembly: Connect the cable from the exterior assembly to the socket on the interior assembly. Ensure the concave and convex sides are aligned and press firmly until it clicks.
- Install the Interior Assembly: Place the interior assembly over the mounting plate, ensuring the tailpiece aligns with the knob. Secure it with the provided screws (Screws E).
5.3 Initial Setup & Calibration
- Install Batteries: Insert 4 AA batteries into the interior assembly. Ensure correct polarity. Close the battery cover.
- Perform Direction Calibration: Keep the bolt in the unlocked position. Press and hold the "5" button on the keypad for 3 seconds. The lock will automatically run the door-handling process, confirming the correct orientation.
- App Pairing (Wi-Fi Mode):
- Ensure Bluetooth is enabled on your phone.
- Press any button on the front panel to activate Bluetooth. Start setup within 30 seconds.
- Open the U Home app, select "Add Device" and choose "Locks".
- Follow the on-screen prompts to pair your Bolt SE. You will need to enter the 6-digit Program Code found under the battery cover.
- Connect to your 2.4GHz Wi-Fi network (5GHz Wi-Fi is not supported).
- App Pairing (Matter Mode):
- If already set up in U Home app, switch to Matter Mode via settings.
- Ensure you have a Matter-over-Thread-compatible smart gateway fully set up and connected to the same Wi-Fi network as your phone.
- Insert a pin into the reset hole and hold for 3 seconds to enable Thread.
- In your preferred smart home app (e.g., Alexa, Apple Home), select "Add Device" and choose the Matter option.
- Scan the QR code inside the battery cover or enter the 11-digit numeric code.

6. Operating Instructions
6.1 Unlocking & Locking
- Fingerprint ID: Place your registered finger on the fingerprint sensor for quick unlocking. The lock features 360° live fingerprint ID with 0.3s unlock speed and 99.8% accuracy.
- Keypad: Enter your 4-8 digit passcode on the tactile keypad. The keypad is glove-friendly and fingerprint-resistant.
- Smartphone App: Use the U Home app to remotely lock or unlock your door from anywhere.
- Voice Control: Integrate with Apple Home, Alexa, or Google Assistant to lock/unlock your door using voice commands.
- Mechanical Key: Two traditional mechanical keys are provided for backup access. The keyhole is discreetly located under a rubber pad on the exterior assembly.

6.2 User Management & Access Sharing

7. Maintenance
7.1 Battery Replacement
The ULTRALOQ Bolt SE uses 4 AA batteries, offering up to 18 months of battery life thanks to Thread's low-energy mesh network. The lock will provide real-time low battery alerts.
- When the battery is low, replace all 4 AA batteries promptly.
- To replace, remove the interior assembly cover, replace the batteries, and reattach the cover.

7.2 Cleaning
Wipe the lock's exterior with a soft, damp cloth. Avoid abrasive cleaners or solvents that could damage the finish or electronic components.
8. Troubleshooting
- Lock not responding / Green light not coming on: Check battery levels and replace if necessary. Ensure batteries are inserted correctly. If issues persist, try removing and reinserting one battery to reset the unit.
- Fingerprint not recognized: Ensure your finger is clean and dry. Try re-registering your fingerprint in the app. Ensure the sensor is clean.
- "Lock jammed" error: This can occur if the deadbolt does not fully extend or retract. Check for obstructions in the door frame. Ensure the hole in the door frame has at least 1" depth. Loosen mounting screws slightly if they are too tight, as this can impede bolt movement.
- Connectivity issues (Wi-Fi/Matter): Ensure your Wi-Fi network is 2.4GHz. Verify your Matter-enabled hub is properly set up and connected to the same network. If the lock loses connection, try restarting the device or re-pairing through the app.
- Remote unlock not working: Confirm the lock has a stable internet connection (for Wi-Fi mode) or is properly connected to your Matter hub. Check app settings for remote unlock permissions.
- Keypad unresponsive: Ensure the keypad is clean. If the keypad is completely unresponsive, check battery levels.
- Mechanical key not working: Ensure the key is fully inserted and turned correctly. If the keyhole cover is stuck, gently pry it open.
