5. Installation Guide

Follow these steps to properly install your Shaking Tank Prism 4 Pro BK ARGB Case Fan:

  1. Prepare Your System: Power off your computer and disconnect it from the power source. Open your PC case to access the fan mounting locations.
  2. Choose Mounting Location: Identify a suitable 120mm fan mounting spot in your case (e.g., front, top, rear, or bottom) or on a liquid radiator.
  3. Mount the Fan: Position the fan in the desired location. Use the included mounting screws to secure the fan to the chassis or radiator. Ensure the fan is oriented correctly for desired airflow (intake or exhaust). The fan's anti-vibration pads should be flush against the mounting surface.
  4. Connect Power: Locate an available 4-pin PWM fan header on your motherboard. Connect the fan's 4-pin power cable to this header. This allows for fan speed control.
  5. Connect ARGB Lighting: Locate an available 5V 3-pin ARGB header on your motherboard. Connect the fan's 5V 3-pin ARGB cable to this header.
    • Important Note: This fan requires a 5V 3-pin ARGB header. Do NOT connect it to a 12V 4-pin RGB header, as this will damage the fan's lighting.
    • If your motherboard lacks a 5V 3-pin ARGB header, a separate ARGB controller box (not included) is required to utilize the lighting synchronization features.
  6. Cable Management: Route all cables neatly to avoid obstructing airflow and for a clean build aesthetic.
  7. Close Case and Power On: Once all connections are secure, close your PC case, reconnect the power, and power on your system.

6. Operation

After successful installation, you can control the fan's speed and lighting:

  • Fan Speed Control (PWM): The 4-pin PWM connector allows your motherboard to dynamically adjust the fan speed based on system temperature. This can typically be configured through your motherboard's BIOS/UEFI settings or dedicated software provided by your motherboard manufacturer.
  • ARGB Lighting Control: The 5V 3-pin ARGB connection enables control of the fan's lighting effects. Use your motherboard's ARGB software (e.g., ASUS Aura Sync, MSI Mystic Light Sync, Gigabyte RGB Fusion, ASRock Polychrome Sync) to customize colors, patterns, and synchronize with other ARGB components.

7. Maintenance

Regular maintenance helps ensure optimal performance and longevity of your fan:

  • Cleaning: Periodically clean the fan blades and frame to remove dust buildup. Use a soft brush or compressed air. Ensure the fan is powered off and disconnected before cleaning.
  • Inspection: Check cables for any signs of wear or damage. Ensure mounting screws remain tight.

8. Troubleshooting

If you encounter issues with your fan, refer to the following common solutions:

  • Fan Not Spinning:
    • Ensure the 4-pin PWM power cable is securely connected to the motherboard fan header.
    • Check your motherboard's BIOS/UEFI settings to ensure the fan header is enabled and configured correctly.
    • Test the fan on a different fan header or with a known working fan to rule out a faulty header or fan.
  • ARGB Lights Not Working/Incorrect Colors:
    • Verify the 5V 3-pin ARGB cable is correctly connected to a 5V 3-pin ARGB header on your motherboard. Ensure it is not connected to a 12V 4-pin RGB header.
    • Check your motherboard's ARGB software for proper configuration and selected lighting effects.
    • If using an external ARGB controller, ensure it is powered and configured correctly.
    • Confirm that the ARGB header on your motherboard is enabled in the BIOS/UEFI.
  • Excessive Noise:
    • Ensure the fan is securely mounted and screws are tightened to prevent vibrations.
    • Check for any cables or obstructions hitting the fan blades.
    • Clean any dust buildup on the fan blades.
    • Adjust fan speed settings in your motherboard's BIOS/UEFI or software to a lower RPM if noise is a concern.
