2. Safety Information

Operating any CNC machine requires adherence to strict safety guidelines to prevent injury and damage to the equipment. Read and understand all safety instructions before operating the Axiscreat 5050 CNC Machine.

  • Personal Protective Equipment (PPE): Always wear safety glasses to protect against flying debris. Consider a dust mask to avoid inhaling fine particles, especially when working with wood or MDF.
  • Electrical Safety: Ensure the machine is properly grounded. Verify the voltage setting on the control box matches your mains power supply (110V or 220V) before powering on. If using 220V mains with the included 110V router spindle, a step-down transformer is required.
  • Work Area: Keep the workspace clean, well-lit, and free of obstructions. Ensure adequate ventilation.
  • Emergency Stop: Familiarize yourself with the location and operation of the emergency stop switch. In case of any malfunction or emergency, press the E-STOP button immediately.
  • Material Securing: Always securely clamp your workpiece to the worktable to prevent movement during operation, which can cause tool breakage or injury.
  • Tooling: Use appropriate and sharp cutting tools for the material being machined. Ensure tools are correctly installed and tightened in the spindle collet.
  • Supervision: Never leave the machine unattended while it is operating.

3. Setup and Assembly

The Axiscreat 5050 CNC Machine features a modular design for simplified assembly. The pre-assembled modular structure allows for setup in approximately 20 minutes.

3.1 Initial Assembly Steps

  1. Unpack all components and verify against the packing list.
  2. Follow the detailed assembly instructions provided in the included manual or refer to the manufacturer's official assembly video (if available) for visual guidance.
  3. Connect the necessary electrical components as per the wiring diagram.

3.2 Power Connection and Voltage Setting

Important: The machine is factory-set to 110V. If your mains power supply is 220V, you must switch the Power Switch on the control box to 220V before connecting power. Failure to do so will damage the control box.

The included router spindle is designed for 110V only. For safety and proper operation with a 220V mains supply, it is strongly recommended to use a step-down transformer to convert 220V to 110V before connecting the spindle.

4. Operating Instructions

This section outlines the basic steps for operating your Axiscreat 5050 CNC Machine.

4.1 Workspace and Material Preparation

  • Ensure the machine's work area is clear.
  • Securely mount your chosen material (e.g., wood, acrylic, aluminum, MDF, leather, plywood) to the worktable. The spacious engraving area is 500 x 500 x 110mm (19.7 x 19.7 x 4.33 inches).
  • Select and install the appropriate cutting tool for your material and desired operation.

4.3 Using the Touchscreen Offline Controller

The 4.3-inch touchscreen provides an intuitive interface for controlling the machine. Use it to load G-code files, set origins, start/pause/resume programs, and return to the machine's home position.

  • Load Program: Insert an SD card with your G-code file into the SD Card Slot on the controller. Select the file from the touchscreen interface.
  • Set Origin: Manually position the spindle to your desired starting point (workpiece origin) and set the X, Y, and Z axes to zero on the controller.
  • Start/Pause/Resume: Use the dedicated buttons on the controller to manage the carving process.
  • Home: Return the machine to its predefined home position.

5. Routine Maintenance

Regular maintenance ensures the longevity, stability, and precision of your Axiscreat 5050 CNC Machine.

  • Check Coupling Screws: Periodically inspect the set screws on the couplings of all three axes (X, Y, Z). If any are loose, tighten them promptly to maintain machine stability and prevent misalignment.
  • Lubrication & Cleanliness:
    • Ensure the linear rails and ball screws on all three axes are properly lubricated.
    • If dry, apply a small amount of appropriate lubricant designed for linear motion components.
    • Wipe the surfaces clean of any dust, debris, or accumulated material chips.
  • Clear the Work Area: Before each operation, check the worktable and surrounding areas for any obstructions that might interfere with axis movement. Foreign objects can trigger alarms, cause axis misalignment, and affect machining accuracy.
