1. Product Overview

The Amulay BXS-223A Car Seat is designed to provide safety and comfort for children from birth up to 12 years of age (0-36 kg, 40-125 cm height). This versatile car seat features a 360-degree rotation function, ISOFIX anchoring system, a 5-point harness, and adjustable headrest with double side impact protection.

It is compatible with Group 0+, I, II, and III child weight categories, making it a long-term safety solution for your child's journey.

2. Safety Information

Your child's safety is paramount. Always ensure the car seat is correctly installed and the child is properly secured according to these instructions.

• 5-Point Harness: Always use the 5-point harness for children up to 18 kg (Group 0+/I). Ensure straps are snug and not twisted.
• Side Impact Protection: The car seat is equipped with double side impact protection for enhanced safety.
• Certifications: This car seat meets European safety standards EN71 and ECE R44/04.

3. Setup and Installation

The Amulay BXS-223A Car Seat offers flexible installation options using either the ISOFIX system or the vehicle's 3-point seat belt.

3.1. Installation with ISOFIX

For vehicles equipped with ISOFIX anchor points, follow these steps:

1. Locate the ISOFIX anchor points in your vehicle's back seat.
2. Extend the ISOFIX connectors from the car seat base.
3. Align and push the ISOFIX connectors onto the vehicle's anchor points until they click securely into place. Green indicators should appear, confirming correct installation.
4. Push the car seat firmly against the vehicle seat back to remove any slack.
5. Ensure the car seat is stable and does not move excessively.

3.2. Installation with Vehicle Seat Belt

For vehicles without ISOFIX or as an alternative installation method:

1. Place the car seat on the vehicle seat.
2. Route the vehicle's 3-point seat belt through the designated belt paths on the car seat. Refer to the labels on the car seat for correct routing (blue for rear-facing, red for forward-facing).
3. Buckle the seat belt and pull it tight to remove all slack.
4. Ensure the car seat is stable and does not move excessively.

4. Operating Instructions

4.1. 360-Degree Rotation

The car seat features a 360-degree rotation function to facilitate placing and removing your child from the vehicle. To rotate the seat:

1. Ensure the vehicle is stationary and safe.
2. Locate the rotation lever or button on the base of the car seat.
3. Press or pull the lever/button and rotate the seat to the desired position (e.g., facing the car door for easy access).
4. Release the lever/button and ensure the seat locks securely in place before driving.

Important Note: While the seat rotates 360 degrees for convenience, it must be locked in either the rear-facing or forward-facing position for travel. It does not rotate freely during transit.

4.2. Harness Adjustment

The 5-point harness system must be adjusted to fit your child snugly. The shoulder straps should be at or just below the child's shoulders when rear-facing, and at or just above when forward-facing.

• To tighten: Pull the adjustment strap located at the front of the seat.
• To loosen: Press the harness release button (usually under a flap) and pull the shoulder straps outwards.
• Ensure the chest clip is positioned at armpit level.

4.3. Headrest and Shoulder Strap Height Adjustment

The headrest and integrated shoulder straps can be adjusted to 10 different height positions to accommodate your growing child.

1. Locate the headrest adjustment lever, typically at the top of the headrest or behind the seat.
2. Squeeze the lever and simultaneously pull the headrest up or push it down to the desired height.
3. Release the lever to lock the headrest in place. Ensure the shoulder straps are at the correct height for your child.

4.4. Recline Positions

The car seat offers 10 recline positions for optimal comfort and safety, depending on the child's age and installation direction.

1. Locate the recline adjustment handle, usually at the front or side of the seat base.
2. Pull the handle and adjust the seat to the desired recline angle.
3. Release the handle and ensure the seat locks securely in the chosen position.

5. Maintenance and Cleaning

Regular maintenance ensures the longevity and hygiene of your car seat.

• Fabric Covers: The fabric covers are removable and machine washable. Use a gentle cycle with cold water and mild detergent. Do not bleach. Air dry only; do not tumble dry.
• Plastic Parts: Wipe plastic parts with a damp cloth and mild soap. Do not use abrasive cleaners or solvents.
• Harness System: Wipe the harness straps with a damp cloth. Do not machine wash or submerge the harness straps, as this can weaken them.

6. Troubleshooting

• Car seat feels loose after installation:

  Ensure ISOFIX connectors are fully engaged (green indicators visible) or the vehicle seat belt is pulled as tight as possible. Push down firmly on the car seat while tightening the belt. Re-read the installation instructions carefully.
• Difficulty rotating the seat:

  Ensure the rotation lever/button is fully engaged. The seat should only rotate when the lever is activated. Check for any obstructions around the base. The seat is designed to lock securely in place for travel and requires the lever to be pressed for rotation.

• Harness straps are difficult to adjust:

  Check for any twists in the harness straps behind the seat. Ensure the harness release button is fully pressed when loosening. If tightening, pull the adjustment strap smoothly and firmly.
