Setup and Installation
Mounting
Select a mounting location that is dry, well-ventilated, and secure. The amplifier's dimensions are approximately 12.8 x 5.63 x 2.19 inches. Ensure there is sufficient space around the amplifier for air circulation. Use the provided mounting screws to securely fasten the amplifier to a solid surface, such as the vehicle's chassis or a custom mounting board.
Power and Speaker Connections
Refer to the diagram below for proper power, ground, remote, and speaker connections. Ensure all connections are tight and free from corrosion.

Image: Close-up of the power input (GND, REM, +12V) and speaker output terminals (CH1-6) on the CT-150.6D amplifier. Note the PWR and PRT indicator lights.
- GND (Ground): Connect this terminal to a clean, unpainted metal surface of the vehicle's chassis. Use a wire of the same gauge as the +12V power wire.
- REM (Remote Turn-On): Connect this terminal to the remote output wire from your head unit. This wire turns the amplifier on and off with your stereo.
- +12V (Power): Connect this terminal directly to the positive terminal of your vehicle's battery. An inline fuse holder with an appropriately sized fuse (not included) must be installed within 18 inches of the battery.
- Speaker Outputs (CH1-CH6): Connect your speakers to the corresponding channels. For bridged operation of CH5-6, connect the positive lead of your subwoofer to the CH5+ terminal and the negative lead to the CH6- terminal.
Input Connections and Controls
Connect your head unit's RCA outputs to the amplifier's RCA inputs. The amplifier offers flexible input and crossover controls.

Image: Close-up of the input RCA jacks (CH1-6) and control knobs for gain and frequency adjustments, along with the input mode switch.
- Input Mode Switch (2CH/6CH):
- 2CH: Use this mode if your head unit has only 2 RCA outputs. The amplifier will internally route the 2-channel input signal to all 6 channels.
- 6CH: Use this mode if your head unit has 6 (or 3 pairs of) RCA outputs, allowing for independent control of each channel pair.
Operating Instructions
Gain Adjustment
The gain controls (GAIN) for CH1/2, CH3/4, and CH5/6 adjust the input sensitivity of the amplifier. Set the gain to match the output voltage of your head unit. Start with the gain at minimum, then slowly increase it until you hear distortion, then back off slightly. This is not a volume control.
Crossover Settings (LPF/FULL/HPF)
Each channel pair (CH1/2, CH3/4, CH5/6) has independent crossover switches and frequency adjustment knobs (FREQUENCY).
- LPF (Low Pass Filter): Blocks frequencies above the set frequency. Ideal for subwoofers.
- FULL (Full Range): Allows all frequencies to pass through. Suitable for full-range speakers or component sets.
- HPF (High Pass Filter): Blocks frequencies below the set frequency. Ideal for midrange speakers and tweeters to prevent them from playing low bass notes.
Adjust the FREQUENCY knob to select the desired crossover point (40Hz to 4kHz) for each channel pair based on the speakers connected.
Maintenance
- Periodically check all wiring connections to ensure they are secure and free from corrosion.
- Clean the amplifier's exterior with a soft, dry cloth. Do not use harsh chemicals or abrasive cleaners.
- Ensure the amplifier's cooling fins are free from dust and debris to maintain proper heat dissipation.
Troubleshooting
| Problem | Possible Cause | Solution |
|---|---|---|
| No Power (PWR light off) | Blown fuse, loose power/ground/remote wire, no remote signal. | Check inline fuse, verify all power connections, ensure remote wire is connected and receiving +12V. |
| Protection Mode (PRT light on) | Overheating, speaker short circuit, low/high voltage. | Check for proper ventilation, inspect speaker wires for shorts, verify vehicle's charging system voltage. The amplifier has 4-way protection (high voltage, low voltage, overcurrent, temperature). |
| No Sound | Loose RCA cables, incorrect input mode, gain too low, speaker wires disconnected. | Verify RCA connections, ensure input mode (2CH/6CH) is correct, adjust gain, check speaker wiring. |
| Distorted Sound | Gain set too high, incorrect crossover settings, damaged speakers. | Reduce gain, adjust crossover settings, test speakers with another amplifier if possible. |
