- Connect one end of the provided 4.9 ft drain hose to the outlet.
- Ensure the other end of the hose is placed in a suitable drain (e.g., floor drain, large bucket) and that the hose is sloped downwards to allow gravity drainage.
- Verify that the hose is securely connected and free of kinks to prevent leaks.
7. Maintenance
Regular maintenance ensures optimal performance and extends the lifespan of your dehumidifier.
7.1 Cleaning the Air Filter
The dehumidifier is equipped with a removable and washable filter. A dirty filter can reduce efficiency and airflow.
- Turn off the dehumidifier and unplug it from the power outlet.
- Locate the air filter on the back or side of the unit and gently pull it out.
- Wash the filter with warm, soapy water. Rinse thoroughly.
- Allow the filter to air dry completely before reinserting it. Do not use a dryer or direct heat.
- Reinsert the dry filter into the unit.
It is recommended to clean the filter every two weeks or more frequently depending on usage and air quality.
7.2 Cleaning the Unit Exterior
- Turn off the dehumidifier and unplug it.
- Wipe the exterior with a soft, damp cloth.
- Do not use harsh chemicals, abrasives, or solvents, as these can damage the surface.
7.3 Storage
If the unit will not be used for an extended period:
- Empty the water tank and ensure it is clean and dry.
- Clean the air filter.
- Coil the power cord neatly.
- Store the dehumidifier in an upright position in a cool, dry place, away from direct sunlight and extreme temperatures.
