1. Important Safety Information

Read all instructions carefully before installation and operation. Failure to follow these instructions may result in property damage, personal injury, or death.

• Installation must be performed by a qualified and experienced technician in accordance with all local and national electrical and building codes.
• Ensure the power supply is disconnected before performing any installation, maintenance, or service.

2. Product Overview

The HarmoHaby 24000 BTU Mini Split AC Unit & Heater is a versatile system designed for efficient climate control. It features inverter technology for energy saving and quiet operation.

• Energy Efficient: Equipped with a high-power compressor and heat pump, delivering rapid cooling and heating with a wide temperature range (61°F-88°F). ETL and AHRI certified for reliability and energy efficiency.
• Multifunctional: Offers five modes: Cool, Fan, Dry, Heat, and Auto. Includes automatic defrosting, self-diagnosis/cleaning, iFEEL mode, 24-hour timer, sleep mode, energy-saving mode, and "HEALTH" mode (negative ions, electrostatic dust removal, and PM2.5 removal).
• All-Weather Performance: Designed to operate in various environments, from -4°F (-20°C) low temperature startup to 140°F (60°C) high temperature. Features anti-dead wind design and 4D air circulation with a maximum airflow distance of 50 feet.

3. Installation Guide

Professional installation is required for this system. The following steps provide a general overview of the installation process.

3.1. Necessary Tools and Materials

Ensure you have the following tools and materials before beginning installation:

• Hole saw, Multimeter, Pipe cutter
• Hex wrenches, Refrigerant, Torque wrench
• Adjustable wrench, Tape measure, Pressure gauge
• Safety Belt, Flaring tool, Bracket
• Level, Phillips screwdriver, Electroprobe
• Vacuum pump, Pliers, Copper tube

3.2. Check the Installation Environment

Before selecting the exact location, verify the environment meets these criteria:

• No heat source or steam source nearby.
• No obstructions around the inlet and outlet of both indoor and outdoor units.
• No smoke or oil in the vicinity.
• No flammable or explosive gas, or corrosive gas present.

3.3. Installation of Indoor Unit

The wall where the indoor unit is installed should be hard, flat, and firm to avoid vibration and noise.

• Select Installation Location: Ensure clearances are met: >15cm to ceiling, >20cm to obstacles on sides, and 230-260cm from the floor.
• Fix Mounting Plate: Place the plate on the wall and use a level to make it horizontal. Select the position of screws on the plate, no less than 5 screws. Punch holes in the wall and use expansion screw kits to firmly fix the plate to the wall. Do not use nails.
• Drill Wall Hole: After determining where the pipe will go through the wall, drill holes. When drilling, ensure to avoid wires, plumbing, gas, and other sensitive components. The wall hole should be inclined outward by 5-10 degrees, with a diameter of 60-80mm. Use an anti-dust bag to avoid dust.
• Install Connection Cable: Pass the power cable out from the back of the indoor unit and fix it on the terminal board. Fix the cable with a clamp.
• Knock-out Panel: According to piping direction, remove the knock-out panel with a knife, and remove burrs to prevent the drain pipe from being broken.
• Connect Refrigerant Piping: Use both hands to turn the pipe in the desired direction. It is forbidden to operate with one hand, which will make the tube deform and rupture. Aim at the pipe center, tighten the taper nut with fingers, then tighten the taper nut with 2 wrenches. It's better to use a torque wrench to tighten the taper nut; refer to the provided torque table for specific values based on pipe size.
• Install the Drain Hose: Connect the drain hose with the water outlet pipe, and fix it firmly with adhesive tape. The length should be more than 5cm to prevent water leakage.
• Wrap the Piping: Wrap refrigerant piping, wires, and drain pipe with wrapping tape.
• Mount Indoor Unit: Put the refrigerant piping out of the wall hole. Put the indoor unit on the mounting plate. Push the lower part of the indoor unit until a 'click' sound is heard to make sure the indoor unit is firmly fixed to the wall.
• Pipe Protecting Ring and Putty: To protect piping and wires, a pipe protecting ring shall be installed sealed with putty.
• Place the Drain Hose: The drain hose should be sloped down. Never put the end of the drain hose in the water.

3.4. Installation of Outdoor Unit

The outdoor unit must be installed in a firm and flat place to prevent vibration and noise.

• Select Installation Location: Ensure sufficient clearance for air circulation: >20cm to top obstruction, >30cm to side obstructions, >10cm air in side, >200cm air out side.
• Install Outdoor Unit Bracket: Use a level to ensure the bracket is horizontal and vertical. Use at least 6 expansion bolts to make sure brackets are fixed firmly on the wall. If installing to a higher place, the operator should wear a safety belt and helmet.
• Fix Outdoor Unit: Put the outdoor unit onto the brackets. Use 4 screws to fix the feet of the outdoor unit.
• Connect Refrigerant Piping: Remove the nut from the stop valves. Aim at the pipe center of the stop valve, tighten the taper nut with fingers, then tighten the taper nut with 2 wrenches. Refer to the torque table for specific values.
• Fix Cables: Remove the electrical box cover. Fix cables to the terminal board according to the wiring diagram on the E-parts cover. Must follow the wiring diagram inside the box cover. Use a clamp to fix cables. Put the electrical box cover back.

3.5. Refrigerant Amount Adjustment

When the length of the connecting pipe is changed, extra amount of refrigerant needs to be added or reduced, so that the operation and performance of the air conditioner will not be compromised. Refer to the table below:

3.6. Trial Operation

• Before Vacuuming: Check all the nuts of the indoor and outdoor unit are tightened.
• Vacuumize: Connect the stop valve, charging hose, manifold valve, and vacuum pump as shown in the diagram. Turn on handle Lo to vacuumize. Vacuumize for at least 15 minutes, making sure the value on the pressure gauge is ≤0.1MPa. Keep pressure for 3-5 minutes after vacuumizing, make sure pressure springback is ≤0.05MPa.
• Open Valves: Open the 1/4 liquid valve, and remove the charging hose. Open all the liquid valves and gas valves. Screw all the caps and tighten them up.
• Electrical Safety Check: Use a multimeter to test possible leaking position of the outdoor unit shell during trial operation. If there is electricity leakage, turn off power immediately to do further examination.
• Water Drain and Leakage Test: Remove one filter. Pour in 500ml water along the evaporator, about 20 seconds. Check if water drain can normally flow out and if any water leakage is around the indoor unit.

• Water Leakage: Ensure the drain hose is properly installed, sloped downwards, and free from kinks or blockages. Verify connections are secure.
