4. Setup

4.1 Battery Installation (ET003)

The ET003 thermometer requires 2 AAA batteries. Open the battery compartment cover located at the bottom of the device. Insert the batteries, ensuring correct polarity (+/-). Close the cover securely.

4.2 Battery Installation (DT008)

The DT008 thermometer comes with a pre-installed battery. If replacement is needed, carefully slide off the battery cover at the end of the thermometer, replace with a new button cell battery (e.g., LR41), and secure the cover.

4.3 Switching Temperature Units (℃/℉)

For the ET003, with the device off, press and hold the 'MOD' button for approximately 3 seconds until the unit changes. For the DT008, press and hold the power button for a few seconds after turning it on to switch units.

5.1 Using the ET003 Forehead and Ear Thermometer

Forehead Measurement:

  1. Ensure the probe cover is on.
  2. Press the 'START' button to turn on the thermometer.
  3. Hold the thermometer with the probe facing the center of the forehead, approximately 1-3 cm away.
  4. Press the 'START' button again to take a reading. A beep will indicate completion.
  5. The temperature will be displayed on the screen.

Ear Measurement:

  1. Remove the probe cover.
  2. Gently insert the probe into the ear canal. For children under 1 year, pull the ear straight back. For children over 1 year and adults, pull the ear up and back.
  3. Press the 'START' button to take a reading. A beep will indicate completion.
  4. The temperature will be displayed on the screen.

5.2 Using the DT008 Digital Thermometer

General Use:

  1. Press the power button to turn on the thermometer. It will display the last reading, then 'Lo' with a flashing ℃ or ℉.
  2. Place the tip according to the desired measurement method (oral, rectal, or underarm).
  3. Wait for the thermometer to beep, indicating the measurement is complete.
  4. Read the temperature displayed on the screen.
  5. Press the power button to turn off the thermometer, or it will automatically shut off after approximately 10 minutes.

6. Fever Alarm and Indicators (ET003)

The ET003 features an intelligent fever alarm system:

  • Green Backlight: Indicates a normal temperature (e.g., 89.6°F ≤ T < 100.4°F).
  • Red Backlight with Beeps: Indicates a fever (e.g., 100.4°F ≤ T ≤ 109.4°F).
  • Flashing Red Backlight with Continuous Beeps: Indicates a high fever (T > 109.4°F).

7. Memory Function (ET003)

The ET003 can store up to 20 previous temperature readings. To access the memory, turn on the thermometer and press the 'MOD' button repeatedly to cycle through the stored readings. The readings will be displayed from the most recent to the oldest.
