4. Setup

Powering the Radio

Your AIWA audio-G PHR2 radio can be powered by either D-size batteries or an AC power cord.

Battery Installation

  1. Locate the battery compartment on the rear of the radio.
  2. Open the battery compartment cover by sliding it down or lifting the latch.
  3. Insert three (3) D-size alkaline batteries, ensuring the correct polarity (+/-) as indicated inside the compartment.
  4. Close the battery compartment cover securely.

Note: The radio requires 3 D-size batteries for operation.

AC Power Connection

  1. Ensure the radio's power switch is in the "OFF" position.
  2. Insert one end of the provided AC power cord into the "AC IN" jack on the side of the radio.
  3. Plug the other end of the AC power cord into a standard wall outlet.

When using AC power, batteries are automatically bypassed. Remove batteries if the radio will not be used for an extended period.

5. Operating Instructions

Turning On/Off and Volume Control

  1. To turn on the radio, rotate the Volume Control (VOL) knob clockwise until you hear a click and the radio powers on.
  2. Continue rotating the Volume Control (VOL) knob to adjust the listening volume.
  3. To turn off the radio, rotate the Volume Control (VOL) knob counter-clockwise until it clicks off.

Tuning to Radio Stations

  1. Select the desired band (AM or FM) using the AM/FM Band Selector switch.
  2. For FM reception, extend the Telescopic Antenna fully and adjust its direction for optimal signal.
  3. Rotate the Tuning Knob (TUNING) to scan for radio stations. The selected frequency will be displayed on the Frequency Display.
  4. Fine-tune the knob until the station is clear.

Using the LED Light

The radio features an integrated LED light for emergency illumination.

  1. To turn on the LED light, slide the LED Light Switch to the "ON" position.
  2. To turn off the LED light, slide the LED Light Switch to the "OFF" position.

6. Maintenance

Cleaning

Wipe the radio's exterior with a soft, dry cloth. Do not use abrasive cleaners or solvents.

Storage

If the radio will not be used for an extended period, remove the batteries to prevent leakage. Store the unit in a cool, dry place away from direct sunlight.

7. Troubleshooting
