Important Safety Information
Please read this manual thoroughly before operating your Emoryseric KT88-K1 Tube Amplifier. Retain this manual for future reference.
- Speaker Connection: Always ensure your speakers are securely connected to the amplifier before powering it on. Operating the amplifier without a speaker load can cause damage.
- Power Supply: This amplifier operates on 110V AC. Ensure your power source matches this requirement.
- Ventilation: Ensure adequate ventilation around the amplifier. Do not block ventilation openings.
- Heat: Vacuum tubes generate heat during operation. Avoid touching them directly and keep flammable materials away from the unit.
- Moisture: Do not expose the amplifier to moisture or liquids.
- Servicing: Refer all servicing to qualified personnel. Do not attempt to open or repair the unit yourself.

Setup Instructions
- Unpacking: Carefully remove the amplifier and all accessories from the packaging.
- Placement: Place the amplifier on a stable, level surface with adequate ventilation. Ensure there is sufficient space around the unit for heat dissipation.
- Tube Installation (if not pre-installed): If the vacuum tubes are not already installed, carefully insert each tube into its corresponding socket. Match the tube type (6H8C, KT88, 5U4G) to the labels on the chassis. Ensure they are firmly seated without excessive force.
- Connect Speakers: Connect your speakers to the appropriate output terminals on the rear panel. The amplifier provides both 4Ω and 8Ω output terminals. Ensure correct polarity (+ to + and - to -).
- Connect Audio Source: Connect your audio source (e.g., CD player, DAC) to one of the RCA input jacks (CD or DAC) on the rear panel using high-quality RCA cables.
- Connect Power: Connect the supplied AC power cable to the amplifier's power inlet and then to a suitable 110V AC wall outlet.
- Protective Cover: For safety and tube protection, place the included tube protective cover over the vacuum tubes.
Operating Instructions
- Power On: Ensure all connections are secure. Turn the power switch on the front panel to the 'ON' position. The tubes will begin to glow as they warm up.
- Warm-up Period: Allow the amplifier to warm up for a few minutes before playing audio. For optimal sound quality, the amplifier's sound signature will continue to improve, becoming warmer and sweeter after an initial 30-hour warm-up period (burn-in).
- Select Input: Use the 'INPUT' selector knob on the front panel to choose the desired audio source (CD or DAC).
- Adjust Volume: Start with the 'VOLUME' knob at its minimum setting. Begin playing audio from your source and slowly increase the volume to a comfortable listening level.
- Mute Function: If available, the 'MUTE' switch can temporarily silence the audio output without changing the volume setting.
- Power Off: When finished listening, turn the 'VOLUME' knob to minimum, then switch the power button to 'OFF'.
Maintenance
- Cleaning: Use a soft, dry cloth to clean the amplifier's exterior. Do not use liquid cleaners or abrasive materials.
- Tube Life: Vacuum tubes have a finite lifespan. If you notice a degradation in sound quality or tube failure, consult a qualified technician for tube replacement. Ensure replacement tubes are matched for optimal performance.
- Protective Cover: Keep the tube protective cover in place when the amplifier is not in use or during transport to prevent accidental damage to the tubes.
Troubleshooting
If you experience issues with your amplifier, refer to the following common troubleshooting steps:
- No Power: Check if the power cable is securely connected to both the amplifier and the wall outlet. Ensure the wall outlet is functional.
- No Sound:
- Verify that the speakers are correctly connected and the speaker wires are secure.
- Check that the audio source is playing and connected to the correct input on the amplifier.
- Ensure the correct input is selected on the amplifier.
- Increase the volume slowly.
- Check if the Mute function is engaged.
- Inspect the vacuum tubes for any visible damage or if they are not glowing.
- Distorted Sound:
- Reduce the volume.
- Check audio source quality.
- Ensure speaker connections are tight and correct.
- Tubes may be nearing the end of their lifespan and require replacement.
- Humming or Buzzing Noise:
- Ensure all cables are properly shielded and connected.
- Try moving the amplifier or audio source away from other electronic devices that might cause interference.
- Check for loose tube connections.
If the problem persists after attempting these steps, please contact customer support.
