5. Setup

5.1 Battery Installation and Charging

• Ensure the battery (sold separately) is fully charged before first use. Refer to the battery charger's manual for charging instructions.
• Align the battery pack with the battery port on the chainsaw handle.
• Slide the battery pack into the port until it clicks securely into place.
• To remove, press the battery release button and slide the battery out.

5.2 Guide Bar and Chain Installation

WARNING: Always disconnect the battery before installing or adjusting the guide bar and chain.

1. Remove the chain guard and side cover by loosening the chain tensioning knob.
2. Carefully place the saw chain around the sprocket and guide bar. Ensure the cutting edges of the chain teeth are facing the correct direction (refer to the arrow on the chainsaw body).
3. Position the guide bar onto the mounting studs, ensuring the chain fits into the groove of the guide bar.
4. Replace the side cover and chain guard. Lightly tighten the chain tensioning knob.
5. Adjust chain tension: The chain should be snug against the guide bar but still able to be pulled freely by hand. There should be no slack on the underside of the guide bar. A properly tensioned chain will have a small gap (approx. 2-3mm) between the chain and the guide bar when pulled up from the center.
6. Once tension is correct, fully tighten the chain tensioning knob.

5.3 Oiling System Setup

This chainsaw features an automatic oiling system.

1. Unscrew the oil tank cap and fill the 30ml tank with appropriate bar and chain oil (not included). Do not overfill.
2. Replace the oil tank cap securely.
3. Before each use, or during long cutting sessions, press the oil pump bulb several times to prime the system and ensure the chain is lubricated. You should see a small amount of oil on the guide bar and chain.

6. Operating Instructions

6.1 Pre-Operation Checks

• Ensure the battery is fully charged and securely installed.
• Check chain tension and adjust if necessary.
• Verify the oil tank is filled and the chain is lubricated.
• Inspect the chainsaw for any loose parts, damage, or wear.

6.2 Starting and Stopping the Chainsaw

• To Start: Hold the chainsaw firmly with both hands. Press and hold the safety lock button (usually on the side of the handle), then squeeze the trigger switch. The chain will begin to move.
• To Stop: Release the trigger switch. The chain will stop.
• Always release the safety lock button and trigger when not actively cutting.

6.3 Cutting Techniques

• General Cutting: Place the bottom of the guide bar against the wood and allow the chain to cut through. Do not force the saw; let the chain do the work.

7.1 Chain Sharpening and Replacement

• A dull chain will reduce cutting efficiency and increase kickback risk. Sharpen the chain regularly with a suitable round file (refer to chain specifications for correct file size).
• Replace the chain if it is damaged, excessively worn, or cannot be sharpened effectively.

7.2 Guide Bar Maintenance

• Clean the guide bar groove regularly to remove sawdust and debris.
• Flip the guide bar periodically to ensure even wear.
