4. Setup

4.1. Initial Charging

Before first use, fully charge the camera pen. Connect the provided USB-C charging cable to the pen's charging port and a 5V USB charger or computer. The indicator light will turn red while charging and blue when fully charged. A full charge typically takes about 2 hours.

4.2. Inserting/Removing MicroSD Card

  1. Gently twist the pen body to separate the two halves.
  2. Locate the MicroSD card slot.
  3. Insert the provided 64GB MicroSD card (or your own up to 256GB) into the slot until it clicks into place. Ensure correct orientation.
  4. To remove, gently press the card until it springs out.
  5. Reassemble the pen by twisting the halves back together.

5. Operating Instructions

5.1. Power On/Off

  • Power On: Press and hold the top function button for 2-3 seconds until the blue indicator light comes on. The light will flash three times and then turn off, indicating recording has started.
  • Power Off: While recording or in standby mode, press and hold the top function button until the blue indicator light goes out. This will save the current recording and power off the device.

5.2. Video Recording

  • Start Recording: After powering on, the device automatically begins video recording once the blue indicator light flashes three times and turns off.
  • End Recording: Press the top function button once to stop recording and save the video. The blue light will illuminate, indicating standby mode.

5.3. Photo Capture

  • While in standby mode (blue light solid), double-press the top function button. The blue indicator light will flash once, indicating a photo has been taken and saved.

5.4. Writing Function

The device functions as a regular ballpoint pen. Rotate the pen tip clockwise to extend the ballpoint for writing. Rotate counter-clockwise to retract it.

6. Data Transfer

To access your recorded videos and photos:

  1. Power off the camera pen.
  2. Connect the camera pen to your computer using the provided USB-C cable. The device should appear as a removable disk.
  3. Alternatively, remove the MicroSD card from the pen and insert it into the provided USB flash drive. Then, plug the USB flash drive into your computer.
  4. Navigate to the device's storage to view and transfer your files. Videos are typically saved in AVI format and photos in JPG format.

7. Maintenance

  • Cleaning: Use a soft, dry cloth to clean the exterior of the pen. Avoid liquid cleaners.

  • Files not appearing on computer: Ensure the pen is properly connected via USB-C or the MicroSD card is correctly inserted into the USB flash drive and then into the computer. Try a different USB port or cable.
  • Device unresponsive (crash): If a crash occurs while recording, the top button may become invalid. Press the Reset button (located in one of the small holes, refer to the diagram in the included paper manual for exact location) for an emergency restart. The device will resume normal operation.
