1. Introduction

This manual provides essential information for the safe and efficient operation of your Zateety 28-inch Electric Fireplace Insert. Please read all instructions carefully before installation and use. This electric fireplace is designed to provide supplemental heat and a realistic flame effect, enhancing the ambiance of your living space.

2. Important Safety Information

  • Read all instructions before using this appliance.
  • Do not operate any fireplace with a damaged cord or plug, or if the heater has malfunctioned, been dropped, or damaged in any manner.
  • Keep combustible materials, such as furniture, pillows, bedding, papers, clothes, and curtains at least 3 feet (0.9 m) from the front of the heater and keep them away from the sides and rear.
  • Extreme caution is necessary when any heater is used by or near children or invalids and whenever the fireplace is left operating and unattended.
  • Always unplug the fireplace when not in use.
  • Do not insert or allow foreign objects to enter any ventilation or exhaust opening as this may cause an electric shock or fire, or damage the heater.
  • To prevent a possible fire, do not block air intakes or exhaust in any manner. Do not use on soft surfaces, like a bed, where openings may become blocked.
  • This fireplace is hot when in use. To avoid burns, do not let bare skin touch hot surfaces.

4. Setup and Installation

The Zateety Electric Fireplace Insert is designed for convenient installation. It can be installed as a plug-and-play unit or hardwired for a more permanent setup.

4.1 Removing the Glass Panel

For easier installation, the glass panel can be removed directly from the front of the unit. This simplifies the process and reduces potential obstacles.

4.2 Placement and Clearance

Ensure the fireplace is placed on a stable, level surface. Maintain adequate clearance from combustible materials as specified in the safety section. The unit's dimensions are 28"D x 8.2"W x 23.8"H.

5. Operating Instructions

Your electric fireplace can be operated using the touch control panel on the unit or the included remote control.

5.1 Control Panel Overview

  • Power ON/OFF: Activates or deactivates the unit.
  • Heater ON/OFF: Toggles the heating function.
  • Flame Effect: Cycles through 4 flame effects.
  • Flame Speed: Adjusts flame speed with 3 levels.
  • Flame Brightness: Adjusts flame and ember bed brightness with 5 levels.
  • Timer Settings: Sets a timer for 0-9 hours.
  • Temperature Unit: Switches between Celsius and Fahrenheit.
  • Fire Crackling Sound: Activates or deactivates the simulated sound.

5.2 Heat Settings

The fireplace features two heat settings: 750W and 1500W. Select the appropriate setting based on your heating needs. The 1500W setting is suitable for heating areas up to 400 square feet. You can also operate the flame effect independently without heat.

5.3 Flame Customization

Customize the visual ambiance with 4 dancing flame colors and 5 levels of flame and ember bed brightness. The flame speed can also be adjusted to 3 different levels.

6. Maintenance

Regular maintenance ensures the longevity and optimal performance of your electric fireplace.

  • Cleaning: Ensure the unit is unplugged and cool before cleaning. Use a soft, damp cloth to wipe surfaces. Do not use abrasive cleaners.
  • Air Vents: Keep air vents clear of dust and debris to ensure proper airflow and prevent overheating.
  • Storage: If storing the unit for an extended period, ensure it is clean, dry, and stored in a cool, dry place.

7. Troubleshooting

If you encounter issues with your fireplace, refer to the following common troubleshooting steps:

  • No Power: Check if the power cord is securely plugged into a working outlet. Ensure the power switch on the unit is in the 'ON' position.
  • No Heat: Verify that the heater function is activated on the control panel or remote. Check the temperature setting; it might be set too low.
  • Flame Effect Not Working: Ensure the flame effect button is pressed. Adjust brightness settings.
  • Unit Overheating: The fireplace has an overheating protection feature that will automatically shut it off. Unplug the unit, allow it to cool down, and check for any blocked air vents before restarting.
