  • Carbon Monoxide (CO) Detectors: Install near sleeping areas and on every level of your home.
  • Smoke Detectors: Install inside each bedroom, outside each sleeping area, and on every level of the home.
  • Combustible Gas Detectors: Install in areas where gas appliances are present, such as kitchens, utility rooms, and basements.
  • Avoid placing detectors directly above heat sources, near windows, or in areas with high airflow that might dilute gas concentrations.

3. Operating Instructions

Button Functions:

  • Power Button (Center): Short press for self-testing. Long press to turn off when operating on battery power.
  • Screen Brightness Button (Left): Short press to change screen brightness level. Long press to switch temperature units between Celsius and Fahrenheit.
  • Buzzer Button (Right): Short press to turn off the buzzer during an alarm.

Self-Test Procedure:

It is recommended to test the detector regularly to ensure proper functionality.

  1. Short press the Power Button to initiate a self-test. The device will check all sensors and sound the alarm briefly.
  2. To test the smoke sensor, you can use a smoky cigarette or a small amount of smoke from unburned paper. Approach the detector with the smoke. The CO value may change, and the alarm will sound when the alarm value is reached. Note: Do not test with car exhaust or burning gas in open areas, as low CO values may not trigger the sensor.

4. Safety Information and Hazards

Understanding the hazards detected by this device is essential for your safety.

Image 6: Overview of hazards detected by the device.

Carbon Monoxide (CO) Hazard:

Carbon monoxide is a colorless, odorless, and non-irritating toxic gas. Mild poisoning can cause headaches, dizziness, palpitations, nausea, vomiting, limb weakness, and brief fainting. Moderate poisoning may result in coma or collapse. High concentrations can lead to varying degrees of poisoning symptoms, endangering the brain, heart, liver, kidneys, and other tissues, potentially leading to electrocution-like death.

Combustible Gas Hazard:

Natural gas is a colorless, odorless, non-toxic, and non-corrosive gas. Methane itself poses no harm to the human body but can act as a suffocant. When natural gas leaks, it may emit toxic carbon monoxide, causing dizziness and discomfort. In severe cases, it can lead to poisoning and death. If the concentration of natural gas reaches 100%, there is a risk of suffocation.

Smoke Hazard:

Thick smoke contains a large amount of harmful particles, such as carbon monoxide, sulfur dioxide, and nitrogen oxides. Inhaling smoke during a fire can irritate the respiratory mucosa, causing coughing, chest tightness, and shortness of breath. Prolonged exposure to thick smoke can also cause damage to the nervous and cardiovascular systems.

5. Maintenance

To ensure the long-term reliability and accuracy of your Gedsffati HD11 detector, regular maintenance is recommended.

  • Regular Testing: Perform a self-test (short press the Power Button) at least once a month to confirm the alarm and sensors are functioning correctly.
  • Cleaning: Gently wipe the exterior of the detector with a soft, dry cloth. Do not use cleaning sprays, polishes, or solvents, as these can damage the device or interfere with sensor operation.
  • Avoid Obstructions: Ensure that the air vents on the device are not blocked by dust, dirt, or other objects, as this can impair detection capabilities.
  • Battery Check: The device's display shows the battery status. Ensure the device is regularly plugged in to keep the backup battery charged.

6. Troubleshooting

If your Gedsffati HD11 detector is not functioning as expected, refer to the following common issues and solutions:

  • No Display/Device Not Powering On:
    • Ensure the device is securely plugged into a working AC outlet.
    • Check if there is power to the outlet.
    • If operating on battery, ensure the battery is charged.
  • Alarm Sounds Without Apparent Hazard:
    • For Smoke: Check for cooking fumes, steam, or dust that might trigger the alarm. Relocate the detector if false alarms are frequent due to normal activities.
    • For Gas: Check for minor gas leaks from appliances. Ventilate the area.
    • For CO: Ventilate the area immediately. If the alarm persists, evacuate and contact emergency services.
    • Perform a self-test to confirm sensor functionality.
  • Red Indicator Light On (Malfunction):
    • A continuous red light or specific error codes on the display may indicate a sensor malfunction or other internal issue.
    • Try unplugging the device for a few minutes and plugging it back in.
    • If the issue persists, contact customer support.
  • Screen Brightness Adjustment:
    • Short press the Screen Brightness Button to cycle through brightness levels or turn the screen off.
  • Temperature Unit Change:
    • Long press the Screen Brightness Button to switch between Celsius and Fahrenheit.
