- The machine is now primed and ready for use.
5. Operating Instructions
5.1 Making Espresso
- Prepare the Portafilter: Insert the desired filter basket (single or double shot) into the portafilter. Fill with finely ground espresso coffee.
- Tamp the Coffee: Use the tamper to press the coffee grounds firmly and evenly. Wipe any excess grounds from the rim.
- Attach Portafilter: Align the portafilter with the group head on the machine, insert it, and twist firmly to the right until it is secure.
- Place Cup: Place your espresso cup(s) on the drip tray directly under the portafilter spouts. For best results, pre-heat your cups on the cup warmer.
- Brew Espresso: Once the machine is heated (indicator lights solid), press the single or double shot button. The machine will automatically brew the programmed volume of espresso. Observe the pressure gauge for optimal extraction (typically in the 'Espresso Range').
- Remove Portafilter: After brewing, carefully twist the portafilter to the left to remove it. Dispose of the used coffee grounds.

5.2 Frothing Milk
The powerful steam wand allows you to create velvety microfoam for lattes and cappuccinos.
- Prepare Milk: Fill a stainless steel frothing pitcher with cold milk (dairy or non-dairy) up to just below the spout.
- Activate Steam: Press the steam button. The indicator light will flash as the machine heats up for steaming. Once solid, the machine is ready.
- Purge Steam Wand: Briefly turn the steam knob to release any condensed water from the wand into an empty cup, then turn it off.
- Froth Milk: Immerse the steam wand tip just below the surface of the milk. Turn the steam knob fully open. Angle the pitcher to create a swirling motion. As the milk expands, lower the pitcher slightly to keep the tip just below the surface.
- Monitor Temperature: Continue frothing until the milk reaches your desired temperature (around 140-150°F or 60-65°C). The pitcher will become hot to the touch.
- Stop Steaming: Turn off the steam knob, then remove the pitcher.
- Clean Wand: Immediately wipe the steam wand with a damp cloth to prevent milk residue from drying. Briefly purge the wand again to clear any internal milk.

- Ensure the machine is heated and ready to brew.
- Insert a prepared portafilter with coffee.
- Press and hold the desired cup button (single or double). The machine will start brewing.
- Release the button once your desired volume is reached. The machine will beep to confirm the new setting is saved.

6.2 Descaling
Over time, mineral deposits can build up in the machine, affecting performance. The machine features an automatic descaling alert. When the descaling indicator lights up, follow these steps:
- Empty the water tank and fill it with a descaling solution mixed according to the manufacturer's instructions (or a mixture of white vinegar and water).
- Place a large container under the group head and steam wand.
- Follow the specific descaling cycle instructions provided in the full product manual (often involves pressing and holding specific buttons).
- After the descaling cycle, rinse the water tank and fill it with fresh water. Run several cycles of fresh water through the machine to flush out any remaining descaling solution.
