2. General Safety Instructions

WARNING: Read all safety warnings, instructions, illustrations, and specifications provided with this power tool. Failure to follow all instructions listed below may result in electric shock, fire, and/or serious injury.

2.1 Work Area Safety

• Keep work area clean and well lit. Cluttered or dark areas invite accidents.

5. Setup

5.1 Battery Installation (Battery Not Included)

This rotary hammer drill is compatible with Dewalt 20V Max batteries, including models such as DCB200, DCB201, DCB203, DCB204, DCB205, and DCB206.

1. Ensure the tool's power switch is in the OFF position.
2. Align the battery pack with the battery port on the base of the drill.
3. Slide the battery pack into the port until it clicks securely into place.
4. To remove, press the battery release button and slide the battery out.

5.2 Attaching the Auxiliary Handle

The 360° adjustable auxiliary handle provides better control and stability during operation.

1. Loosen the auxiliary handle by twisting it counter-clockwise.
2. Slide the handle onto the front of the drill body.
3. Adjust the handle to your desired position for comfort and control.
4. Tighten the handle by twisting it clockwise until secure.

1. Pull back the chuck collar (1) on the front of the drill.
2. Insert the SDS Plus drill bit or chisel (2) into the chuck until it stops.
3. Release the chuck collar. The bit should be held securely but have a slight axial play, which is normal for SDS Plus systems.
4. To remove, pull back the chuck collar and pull the bit out.

6. Operating Instructions

6.1 Selecting Operating Mode

The rotary hammer drill features four functional modes, selected by rotating the mode selector knob.

• Drilling Mode: For drilling in wood, metal, and plastic without hammer action.
• Hammer Drilling Mode: Combines rotation and hammer action for drilling in concrete and masonry.

6.2 Variable Speed Control and Forward/Reverse Switch

• Variable Speed Trigger: The tool's speed is controlled by the pressure applied to the trigger. Pressing lightly results in lower speed, while pressing fully increases speed. This allows for precise control, especially when starting a hole.
• Forward/Reverse Switch: Located above the trigger, this switch controls the direction of rotation. Push it left for forward rotation (drilling/chiseling) and right for reverse rotation (e.g., removing a stuck drill bit). Ensure the tool is stopped before changing direction.

The included depth ruler helps achieve consistent drilling depths.

1. Insert the depth ruler into the designated hole on the auxiliary handle.
2. Adjust the ruler to the desired drilling depth, measuring from the tip of the drill bit.
3. Tighten the auxiliary handle to secure the depth ruler in place.
4. Drill until the end of the depth ruler touches the workpiece surface.
