Setup

  1. Select Needle: Choose either the 5cm needle for detailed carving or the 10cm needle for general cutting. The needles are pre-installed on separate handles.
  2. Connect Power: Insert the DC plug from the power adapter into the receptacle at the end of the foam cutter handle.
  3. Position Safely: Place the foam cutter on the included metal stand when not actively cutting to prevent accidental contact with hot surfaces.
  4. Power On: Plug the power adapter into a standard electrical outlet. Use the inline switch on the power cord to turn the tool on. The needle will begin to heat up.

Operating Instructions

  1. Preheating: After turning on, allow approximately 10 seconds for the needle to reach its operating temperature of up to 450°C (842°F).
  2. Cutting/Carving: Gently press the hot needle into the foam material. The heat will melt through the foam, allowing for smooth cuts or intricate carvings. Apply steady, even pressure.
  3. Material Compatibility: This tool is suitable for cutting and carving KT board, pearl cotton, polystyrene sheet, foam board, EVA, sponge, and wax sculpture.
  4. Cooling Down: After use, turn off the tool using the inline switch and unplug the power adapter. Place the tool on the metal stand and allow it to cool completely (approximately 3 minutes) before storing.

Maintenance

  • Cleaning: Ensure the tool is completely cool and unplugged before cleaning. Gently wipe the needle with a dry cloth to remove any foam residue. Do not use abrasive cleaners or solvents.
  • Storage: Store the foam cutter and its components in a dry, safe place, away from direct sunlight and extreme temperatures.
  • Needle Replacement: The needles are designed for durability. If a needle becomes damaged or ineffective, it can be replaced by carefully unscrewing the old needle and screwing in a new one. Ensure the tool is unplugged and cool before attempting replacement.
