2. Placement
The AV835 soundbar is designed to be placed directly in front of your television or on a shelf below it. Its low-profile design (1.9 inches high) allows it to fit under most TVs 32 inches and larger without obstructing the screen. Ensure the soundbar is placed on a stable, flat surface.
3. Connecting to Your TV
The AV835 offers multiple connection options. Choose the method that best suits your television.
- HDMI ARC (Recommended): Connect one end of the HDMI cable to the HDMI ARC port on the soundbar and the other end to the HDMI ARC port on your TV. This connection allows your TV remote to control the soundbar's volume.
- Optical Digital: Connect one end of the optical digital cable to the OPTICAL IN port on the soundbar and the other end to the Optical Digital Output port on your TV.
- Analog: Use either the 3.5mm analog cable or the Mini RCA analog to 3.5mm cable to connect the soundbar's ANALOG IN port to the audio output (headphone jack or RCA stereo output) on your TV.

After connecting the audio cable, plug the power adapter into the soundbar and then into a wall outlet. The soundbar will automatically power on.
Operating the Soundbar
1. Power On/Off
Press the POWER button on the remote control to turn the soundbar on or off. If connected via HDMI ARC, the soundbar may power on/off automatically with your TV.
2. Volume Control
Use the VOLUME UP (∧) and VOLUME DOWN (∨) buttons on the remote to adjust the overall sound level. The current volume level will be displayed on the soundbar's front panel.
3. AccuVoice Settings
The AV835 features AccuVoice technology to enhance dialogue clarity. Press the ACCUVOICE button on the remote to cycle through 20 levels of voice boost. Each press increases the clarity, making voices more distinct from background sounds. Experiment to find your preferred setting.

5. Output Leveling
The Output Leveling feature automatically reduces the impact of loud commercials or sudden volume changes, providing a more consistent listening experience. This feature is always active.
6. USB Playback
To play audio files from a USB flash drive, insert the drive into the USB port on the soundbar. The soundbar will automatically detect and begin playing compatible audio tracks. Use the PLAY/PAUSE, BACK, and FWD buttons on the remote to control playback.
7. Remote Control
The included remote control provides full functionality for the AV835. Ensure the batteries (2x AAA) are correctly installed. The soundbar features a behind-the-grille display that illuminates to show current settings when adjustments are made.

Maintenance
Cleaning
To clean the soundbar, gently wipe the exterior surfaces with a soft, dry cloth. Do not use liquid cleaners or abrasive materials, as these may damage the finish or internal components. Ensure the soundbar is powered off and unplugged before cleaning.
Storage
If storing the soundbar for an extended period, disconnect it from power and store it in a cool, dry place, preferably in its original packaging to protect it from dust and physical damage.
Troubleshooting
If you encounter issues with your ZVOX AV835, refer to the following common solutions:
- No Sound:
- Ensure the soundbar is powered on and not muted.
- Verify that the audio cable (HDMI ARC, Optical, or Analog) is securely connected to both the soundbar and the TV.
- Check your TV's audio output settings to ensure it is sending audio to the correct output (e.g., external speakers, HDMI ARC).
- Try a different audio cable or connection method if available.
- Distorted or Poor Sound Quality:
- Check for loose cable connections.
- Ensure the soundbar's volume is not set too high, causing clipping.
- Adjust the AccuVoice settings to see if clarity improves.
- If using analog connection, ensure the TV's volume is not too low or too high, which can affect the signal quality.
- Remote Control Not Responding:
- Replace the AAA batteries in the remote control.
- Ensure there are no obstructions between the remote and the soundbar.
