Setup

1. Charging the Remote Control

Before initial use, fully charge the remote control.

• Connect the supplied USB-C charging cable to the Type-C charging port (6) on the remote control and to a 5V power source (e.g., USB wall adapter, computer USB port).
• The LED indicator (2) will show charging status. A full charge takes approximately 2 hours.
• A single charge provides approximately 8 hours of continuous use.

2. Pairing with Your Action Camera

The remote control uses Bluetooth 5.0 for stable connection up to 15 meters in an unobstructed environment. Follow these steps to pair with your camera:

1. Power On Remote: Press and hold the Power Button (1) on the remote control until the LED indicator (2) lights up.
2. Enter Pairing Mode: Press and hold the Sleep Button (4) and the Shutter Button (3) simultaneously for a few seconds until the LED indicator (2) flashes rapidly, indicating pairing mode.
3. Camera Pairing:
   • For GoPro: On your GoPro camera, go to Connections > Connect Device > Remote. The camera will search for the remote.
   • For Insta360: On your Insta360 camera, go to Settings > Bluetooth Remote > Pair New Remote. The camera will search for the remote.
4. Confirm Connection: Once the camera detects the KingMa remote, select it to pair. The LED indicator on the remote will change to a steady light or flash slowly to confirm a successful connection.

Note: If pairing fails, restart both the remote and the camera, then repeat the steps. Ensure no other Bluetooth devices are interfering during the pairing process.

Operating Instructions

1. Power On/Off

• Power On: Press and hold the Power Button (1) for 2 seconds. The LED indicator will light up.
• Power Off: Press and hold the Power Button (1) for 3 seconds. The LED indicator will turn off.

2. Photo Capture and Video Recording

• Take Photo: In photo mode, press the Shutter Button (3) once to capture a photo.
• Start/Stop Video: In video mode, press the Shutter Button (3) once to start recording. Press it again to stop recording.

3. Mode Switching

• Press the Mode Switch Button (5) to cycle through available camera modes (e.g., Photo, Video, Time-lapse).
• The specific modes and their order depend on your connected action camera model.

4. Smart Sleep Function

• The remote control automatically enters sleep mode after 5 minutes of inactivity to conserve power.
• To wake up the remote, press any button. It will reconnect to your camera automatically if it was previously paired.

Maintenance

• Keep the remote control clean and dry. Wipe with a soft, dry cloth.
• Avoid exposing the remote to extreme temperatures, direct sunlight, or corrosive substances.
• While the remote is splash-proof, do not immerse it in water.
• Store the remote in a cool, dry place when not in use for extended periods.

Troubleshooting

Remote not pairing or connecting to camera:

• Ensure both the remote and the camera are sufficiently charged.
• Verify that the remote is in pairing mode (LED flashing rapidly).
• Check your camera's Bluetooth settings to ensure it's discoverable and attempting to connect to a remote.
• Restart both the remote and the camera, then attempt the pairing process again.
• Ensure the remote is within the 15-meter operating range and there are no significant obstructions.
• If using an Insta360 camera and experiencing connection issues, try navigating to the camera's settings screen to initiate the connection.

Remote not responding:

• Check if the remote's battery is low. Recharge if necessary.
• Ensure the remote is not in sleep mode. Press any button to wake it up.
• Verify that the remote is still paired with your camera. Re-pair if the connection is lost.

Camera powers on unexpectedly (GoPro):

• Ensure the remote control is powered off when not in use to prevent accidental camera activation.

Recording status unclear:

• Always visually confirm the recording status on your action camera's screen before and during shooting, especially when the remote's LED indicator is difficult to see or interpret.
