2. Safety Information

WARNING: Electrocution Hazard

Before beginning any work on the electric installation, ensure that main breaker panel switches are "OFF" to avoid any danger of electric shock. All mounting and plumbing must be completed before proceeding with electrical hook-up. Where required by local, state, or national electrical codes, the circuits should be equipped with a "ground fault interrupter".

The unit must be properly grounded in accordance with state and local codes, or in absence of such codes, in accordance with national electric code or the Canadian electric code. Failure to electrically ground the product could result in serious personal injury or death.

Professional installation is recommended. Consult a certified electrician before purchasing and installing this unit to verify your electrical circuit can support high-power appliances. This is especially important if you already use other high-wattage devices (e.g., A/C, heater, oven).

Ensure the circuits and accessories meet all requirements:

  • Power Requirement: 46 Amps
  • Breaker Required: 50 Amp Double-Pole Breaker
  • Wiring: 3 x 8 AWG wires (L1 x 1, L2 x 1, Ground x 1). Wire length should be determined based on installation position.

Confirm Your Circuit's Load Capacity:

A 150 Amp Household Service is recommended. Prevent circuit overloads for optimal performance and reliable operation of your equipment.

5.1. Safety Thermal Cut-off Reset Instructions

If the product stops working due to triggering the safety thermal cut-off protection function, you can reset it to restore normal product operation.

Warning: Ensure to operate under power-off conditions.

  1. Remove Outer Shell: Carefully remove the outer shell of the water heater.
  2. Locate Safety Thermal Cut-off: Identify the safety thermal cut-off component inside the unit.
  3. Press Reset Button: Using a screwdriver, press the reset button on the thermal cut-off.
  4. Install Outer Shell: Reinstall the outer shell of the water heater.

To determine if the safety thermal cut-off has tripped, check the following: 1) The machine is not working (the display screen shows nothing). 2) The municipal power supply is normal (test whether other appliances at home are functioning properly). 3) The circuit breaker connected to the electric water heater has not tripped. If these three conditions are met simultaneously, the product's limiter may have tripped, and you will need to open the product cover to reset the safety thermal cut-off.
