5. Setup

5.1. Battery Installation

The DTAPE DT50 requires 2 AAA batteries (included). To install the batteries:

  1. Locate the battery compartment cover on the back of the device.
  2. Slide the cover open.
  3. Insert the 2 AAA batteries, ensuring correct polarity (+/-).
  4. Close the battery compartment cover securely.

  3. Press the Measure button (top arrow button) once to activate the laser.

To cycle through measurement units (meters, feet, inches, feet+inches):
