4. Setup and Installation

The eMonHub is designed for plug-and-play installation with factory-preconfigured settings. However, proper wiring and antenna setup are crucial for optimal performance.

4.1 Wiring the Current Transformers (CTs) and Power Cord

The eMonHub unit features 10 channels for CT connections and dedicated ports for power. Each CT has S1 (positive) and S2 (negative) wires. The power cord has L1, L2, L3, and N connections. For American standard homes, typically L1, L2, and N are used.

  1. Identify the CT communication ports on the eMonHub unit. These are labeled with '+' and '-' for each channel (1-10).
  2. Using a flathead screwdriver, press down on the spring terminal for the desired CT channel.
  3. Insert the S1 (positive) wire of the CT into the '+' terminal until fully seated.
  4. Insert the S2 (negative) wire of the CT into the '-' terminal until fully seated.
  5. Repeat for all CTs.
  6. Connect the power cord: Press down on the spring terminals for L1, L2, and N (or L1, L2, L3, N as applicable for your system).
  7. Insert the corresponding wires from the power cord into their respective terminals.

4.2 Wi-Fi Antenna Installation

The Wi-Fi antenna ensures wireless communication for your eMonHub. Follow these steps for proper assembly and installation:

  1. Remove the nut from the extension cable.
  2. Install the flower piece (shrapnel) onto the extension cable connector.
  3. Tighten the nut securely onto the connector.
  4. Slide the heat shrinkable tube over the antenna and the extension cable connection point.
  5. Apply heat with a heat gun to shrink the tube, providing protection and a secure fit.
  6. Attach the assembled antenna to the Wi-Fi terminal on the eMonHub unit.
  7. Alternatively, use the Ethernet port for wired communication if preferred.
