5. Maintenance

  • Cleaning: Use a soft, damp cloth to clean the scanner's exterior. For the scanning window, use a lint-free cloth and a mild cleaning solution suitable for optics. Do not use abrasive cleaners or solvents.
  • Storage: Store the scanner in a cool, dry place away from direct sunlight and extreme temperatures.
  • Battery Care: For optimal battery life, avoid fully discharging the battery frequently. If storing for an extended period, charge the battery to about 50% and recharge every few months.
  • Firmware Updates: Periodically check the NetumScan official website for any available firmware updates to ensure optimal performance and compatibility.

6. Troubleshooting

  • Scanner not connecting: Ensure the scanner is charged and powered on. For 2.4G, verify the USB dongle is properly connected to the computer. For Bluetooth, ensure the scanner is in pairing mode and visible in your device's Bluetooth settings.
  • No data transmitted after scanning: Check if the scanner is in Instant Upload Mode. If in Storage Mode, you need to manually upload the data. Ensure the cursor is in an active text field on your connected device.
  • Unable to read certain barcodes: Ensure the barcode symbology is enabled. Refer to the full configuration manual for enabling specific barcode types. Clean the scanning window if it is dirty.
  • Short battery life: Ensure the scanner is fully charged. Reduce screen brightness or disable unnecessary features if applicable. Battery performance may degrade over time with extensive use.
  • Scanner beeps but doesn't transmit: This might indicate a successful scan but a connection issue. Re-establish the connection or try a different connection method.
