4. Setup and Installation

Warning: Installation must be performed by a qualified electrician. Ensure all power is disconnected before proceeding.

  1. Mounting: Securely attach the KWS-306 meter to a standard 35mm DIN rail in a suitable electrical enclosure.
  2. Wiring (Three-Phase Four-Wire System):
    • Connect Phase A (L1) to terminal 'A' on the meter.
    • Connect Phase B (L2) to terminal 'B' on the meter.
    • Connect Phase C (L3) to terminal 'C' on the meter.
    • Connect the Neutral line to terminal 'N' on the meter.
    • Ensure all connections are tight and secure to prevent loose contacts and overheating.

Refer to the wiring diagram printed on the device or in the packaging for specific connection points. The image in Figure 3.1 provides a visual reference for the terminal layout (A, B, C, N).

  3. Power On: After verifying all connections are correct and secure, restore power to the circuit. The meter display should illuminate.

5. Operating Instructions

The KWS-306 meter provides real-time data on its color display. The display typically cycles through various parameters or shows them simultaneously, as depicted in Figure 3.1.

  • Reading the Display:
    • Voltage (V): Displays the voltage for each phase (A, B, C).
    • Current (A): Shows the current flowing through each phase (A, B, C).
    • Power (KW): Indicates the active power consumption for each phase and potentially total power.
    • Energy (Kwh): Accumulates the total energy consumed. This value is typically non-resettable or has a specific reset procedure.
    • Frequency (Hz): Displays the system frequency.
    • Temperature (°C): Shows the internal operating temperature of the device or an ambient temperature reading.
    • Power Factor (PF): (If applicable, based on description) Indicates the power factor of the load.
    • Timing (Hours): (If applicable, based on description) Displays accumulated operating time.
  • Button Functions: The meter may include buttons (e.g., '+' and '-' or 'I/NO/OFF' as seen in Figure 3.1) for navigating display modes, resetting certain values (if supported), or turning the display on/off. Refer to the specific model's detailed instructions for button functionality.

6. Maintenance

  • Cleaning: Use a soft, dry cloth to clean the meter's exterior. Do not use abrasive cleaners or solvents.
  • Inspection: Periodically inspect wiring connections for tightness and signs of wear or damage.
  • Environment: Ensure the operating environment remains within specified temperature and humidity limits.
  • No User-Serviceable Parts: The KWS-306 contains no user-serviceable parts. Do not attempt to open or repair the device.

7. Troubleshooting

ProblemPossible CauseSolution
Display is blankNo power supply; Loose wiring; Device malfunction.Check power supply to the circuit. Verify all wiring connections are secure. If problem persists, contact support.
Incorrect readingsIncorrect wiring; Sensor issue; Device malfunction.Double-check wiring against the diagram. Ensure current transformers (if external) are correctly installed and oriented. Contact support if readings remain inaccurate.
