1. Introduction

This appliance is designed to simplify food preparation by quickly and efficiently cutting various vegetables and fruits into uniform sticks or dices. Please read this manual thoroughly before use to ensure safe and optimal operation.

2. Important Safety Instructions

  • Sharp Blades: The cutting blades are extremely sharp. Always handle them with extreme caution. Keep fingers away from the blades during assembly, operation, and cleaning.
  • Children: This appliance is not intended for use by children. Keep out of reach of children and supervise closely if used near them.
  • Power Source: Ensure the appliance is plugged into a grounded electrical outlet with the correct voltage. Unplug the appliance when not in use, before cleaning, or when changing blades.

4. Setup and Blade Installation

Before first use, ensure all packaging materials are removed and the components are clean.

  1. Select the desired blade size (1/4-inch, 3/8-inch, or 1/2-inch).
  2. To install or change a blade, rotate the metal clip counter-clockwise on the front of the cutting chamber to unlock it.
  3. Carefully remove the existing pusher plate and blade assembly.
  4. Insert the new blade assembly, ensuring it is securely seated. The pushing plate and cutting plate are a set; always use the corresponding pusher plate for the selected blade size.
  5. Rotate the metal clip clockwise to lock the blade assembly in place.

5. Operating Instructions

The Sopito Electric French Fry Cutter is designed for simple, two-button operation.

  1. Place the appliance on a stable, flat surface.
  2. Ensure the desired blade is correctly installed and locked.
  3. Prepare your vegetable or fruit by washing it. For larger items, cut them into pieces that fit comfortably into the cutting chamber (approximately 4.72 x 3.31 inches).
  4. Place the prepared vegetable or fruit into the cutting chamber, ensuring it is positioned against the pusher plate.
  5. Press the "Forward" button to initiate the cutting process. The pusher plate will move forward, pushing the item through the blades.
  6. Once cutting is complete, press the "Backward" button to retract the pusher plate.
  7. Remove the cut pieces from the collection area.

6. Maintenance and Cleaning

Regular cleaning ensures the longevity and hygienic operation of your appliance.

  1. Unplug: Always unplug the appliance from the power outlet before cleaning.
  2. Detachable Blades: The stainless steel blade assemblies are detachable for easy cleaning. Remove the blade assembly as described in Section 4.
  3. Rinsing: Rinse the detachable blade assembly and pusher plate under running water. Use a soft brush or sponge to remove any food residue. Do not let food dry on the blades, as this can make cleaning difficult.
  4. Main Unit: Wipe the main motor unit with a damp cloth. Do not immerse it in water.
  5. Drying: Ensure all parts are thoroughly dry before reassembling or storing the appliance.

7. Troubleshooting

  • Appliance not turning on: Ensure the power cord is securely plugged into a working electrical outlet.
  • Difficulty cutting hard vegetables (e.g., sweet potatoes): Pre-microwave hard vegetables for 1-2 minutes to soften them before cutting. This reduces strain on the motor and blades.
  • Vegetables getting stuck: Ensure the vegetable size fits within the cutting chamber. Do not overload the chamber. If a vegetable gets stuck, unplug the unit and carefully remove the obstruction.
  • Uneven cuts: Ensure the vegetable is placed squarely against the pusher plate and the blade assembly is correctly installed.
