Setup and Installation

Follow these steps to properly install the dishwasher faucet adapter:

  1. Prepare the Faucet: Ensure your faucet is clean and free of debris. Remove the existing aerator from your kitchen sink faucet by unscrewing it. If necessary, use pliers with a cloth to avoid scratching the faucet finish.
  2. Check Thread Size: The adapter features a 15/16"-27 male thread and a 55/64"-27 female thread. Verify that one of these sizes matches your faucet's thread. Most standard sink faucets are compatible.
  3. Insert Washer: Place the rubber washer (included) into the female end of the adapter. This washer is crucial for creating a watertight seal.
  4. Attach Adapter to Faucet: Screw the appropriate end of the dishwasher faucet adapter onto your kitchen faucet. Hand-tighten until snug. Do not overtighten, as this can damage the threads or the washer.
  5. Connect Dishwasher Hose: Once the adapter is securely attached to the faucet, connect your portable dishwasher's water supply hose to the snap fitting on the adapter. Ensure it clicks into place for a secure connection.
  6. Test for Leaks: Slowly turn on the faucet and check for any leaks around the adapter and the dishwasher hose connection. If leaks occur, tighten slightly or re-seat the rubber washer.

Operating Instructions

Once the adapter is installed and the dishwasher hose is connected:

  1. Turn on Faucet: Turn on your kitchen faucet to allow water to flow to the portable dishwasher. The dishwasher will draw water as needed.
  2. Start Dishwasher Cycle: Initiate the desired wash cycle on your portable dishwasher according to its own instruction manual.
  3. Monitor Operation: Periodically check for any leaks or unusual operation during the dishwasher cycle.
  4. Turn off Faucet: After the dishwasher cycle is complete, turn off the kitchen faucet.
  5. Disconnect Dishwasher: To disconnect the portable dishwasher, simply press the release button on the snap fitting (if applicable) and pull the hose away from the adapter.

Maintenance

Regular maintenance ensures the adapter functions correctly and extends its lifespan:

  • Cleaning: Periodically unscrew the adapter from the faucet and rinse it under running water to remove any mineral deposits or debris. Use a soft brush if necessary.
  • Washer Inspection: Inspect the rubber washer for signs of wear, cracking, or compression. Replace the washer if it appears damaged to prevent leaks.
  • Thread Condition: Check the threads on both the adapter and your faucet for any damage. Damaged threads can lead to leaks or difficulty in attachment.
  • Storage: If the adapter is not in continuous use, store it in a clean, dry place.
