Your guide to safe and efficient water distillation.

1. Introduction

This manual provides essential information for the safe operation, maintenance, and troubleshooting of your VEVOR Water Distiller, Model YMK60208. This appliance is designed to produce distilled water by heating tap water to boiling, converting it into steam, and then condensing the steam back into pure liquid, effectively removing most impurities.

4. Setup

  1. Unpack: Carefully remove all components from the packaging. Inspect for any damage.
  2. Placement: Place the main distiller unit on a flat, stable, and heat-resistant surface. Ensure adequate ventilation around the unit.
  3. Initial Cleaning: Before first use, clean the boiling chamber with a solution of water and citric acid (or white vinegar) to remove any manufacturing residues. Fill the boiling chamber with water up to the MAX line and add a small amount of citric acid. Run one distillation cycle, then discard the water. Rinse the chamber thoroughly with clean water.
  4. Assemble Collection Carafe: Ensure the lid is securely placed on the glass carafe. Insert an activated carbon filter pack into the nozzle if desired, then attach the nozzle to the distiller's outlet.

5. Operating Instructions

  1. Fill the Distiller: Open the lid of the main distiller unit and fill the stainless steel boiling chamber with tap water. Do not exceed the 'MAX' fill line.
  2. Secure the Lid: Place the distiller lid firmly onto the main unit. Ensure it is properly seated.
  3. Position Carafe: Place the glass collection carafe directly under the distiller's outlet nozzle.
  4. Connect Power: Plug the power cord into the distiller and then into a grounded electrical outlet.
  5. Set Time and Temperature: Use the control panel to set the desired distillation time (0-99 hours) and temperature. The real-time temperature will be displayed. Refer to Image 5.1 for control panel details.
  6. VEVOR Water Distiller control panel showing temperature and time settings

Image 5.1: The digital control panel displaying temperature and time settings, with '+' and '-' buttons for adjustment, a 'SET' button, and a power button.

  7. Start Distillation: Press the power button to begin the distillation process. The unit will heat the water, produce steam, and condense it into the collection carafe.
  8. Automatic Shut-off: The distiller will automatically shut off once the set time is complete or if the water level in the boiling chamber becomes too low.
  9. Collect Distilled Water: Once the cycle is complete and the unit has cooled, carefully remove the collection carafe.

6. Maintenance

Regular cleaning and maintenance ensure optimal performance and longevity of your distiller.

6.1 Cleaning the Boiling Chamber

  1. After each use, allow the unit to cool completely.
  2. Discard any remaining water from the boiling chamber.
  3. To remove mineral deposits (scale), add approximately 1 tablespoon of citric acid powder (or white vinegar) to the boiling chamber and fill with warm water up to the MAX line.
  4. Let the solution soak for 30 minutes to an hour, or run a short heating cycle (without distillation) if deposits are stubborn.
  5. Scrub the interior with a soft brush or sponge.
  6. Rinse thoroughly with clean water until all residue is removed.

6.2 Replacing Activated Carbon Filters

Activated carbon filter packs should be replaced regularly, typically every 2-3 months or after 30-50 gallons of distilled water, depending on usage.

Instructions for replacing activated carbon filter in VEVOR Water Distiller

Image 6.1: Step-by-step guide on how to replace the activated carbon filter: invert the lid, remove the nozzle, replace the pack, insert the nozzle, and push it down.

  1. Ensure the distiller is unplugged and cool.
  2. Remove the nozzle from the distiller's outlet.
  3. Remove the old activated carbon filter pack and dispose of it.
  4. Insert a new activated carbon filter pack into the nozzle.
  5. Reattach the nozzle to the distiller's outlet.
