Model: SO-E100W

1. Introduction

This manual provides essential instructions for the safe and efficient use of your SOKIOVOLA SO-E100W Portable Solar Panel. This 100W foldable solar charger is designed for outdoor use, camping, RVs, and other portable power needs, featuring high conversion efficiency and durable construction.

2. Safety Information

  • Do not attempt to disassemble, modify, or repair the solar panel. This can cause damage and void the warranty.
  • Avoid exposing the solar panel to fire or extreme heat.
  • Do not immerse the solar panel in water. While it is waterproof, prolonged submersion is not recommended.
  • Handle the solar panel with care. Avoid dropping it or subjecting it to strong impacts.
  • Keep the solar panel away from sharp objects that could puncture or damage the surface.
  • Ensure proper ventilation when operating, especially when connected to a power station.
  • Keep children and pets away from the solar panel during operation.

3. Setup Guide

3.2 Deploying the Solar Panel

The SOKIOVOLA SO-E100W solar panel is designed for portability and easy setup. When folded, it measures approximately 21 x 23 inches and weighs 8.81 pounds (4.0 kg). To deploy:

  1. Place the folded solar panel on a flat, stable surface.
  2. Unfold the panel carefully. When fully unfolded, it measures approximately 23 x 42 inches.
  3. Extend the two built-in kickstands located on the back of the panel.
  4. Adjust the kickstands to angle the panel towards the sun for optimal sunlight exposure. The ideal angle is typically perpendicular to the sun's rays.

The kickstands allow for angle adjustments between 30° and 80° to maximize power output throughout the day. For example, an angle of 50° is often optimal for 8-10 AM, 40° for 2-5 PM, and 30° for 10 AM-2 PM, depending on your location and season.

4. Operating Instructions

4.1 Connecting to a Power Station

The SOKIOVOLA SO-E100W Portable Solar Panel is compatible with most solar generators and portable power stations on the market. It includes a 4-in-1 solar extension cable with multiple connectors:

  • XT60
  • DC5521
  • DC7909 (8mm)
  • Anderson

Additionally, a 9-in-1 DC connector set with a DC8020mm adapter is provided for broader compatibility.

  1. Identify the correct input port and connector type for your portable power station.
  2. Connect the MC4 connectors from the solar panel to the 4-in-1 solar extension cable.
  3. Attach the appropriate connector (XT60, DC5521, DC7909, Anderson, or one of the DC adapters) to the input port of your power station.
  4. Ensure all connections are secure.

4.2 Optimal Charging Conditions

For maximum charging efficiency, ensure the solar panel is:

  • Positioned in direct sunlight without any shading from trees, buildings, or other obstructions.
  • Angled directly towards the sun. Adjust the kickstands periodically as the sun moves across the sky.
  • Clean and free from dust or debris on its surface.

Important Note: Some portable power stations have a maximum input power limit. The power received by your power station will not exceed this limit, even under optimal sunlight conditions. This does not indicate insufficient output from the SOKIOVOLA solar panel. Always check your power station's specifications for its maximum input power before use.

4.3 Series and Parallel Connections (Optional)

The SOKIOVOLA SO-E100W solar panel supports both series and parallel connections for increased voltage or current, respectively. This allows for greater flexibility in charging larger power stations or multiple devices.

  • Series Connection: Connect panels in series to increase the total voltage (Voltage Total = V1 + V2). Ensure the combined voltage does not exceed your power station's maximum input voltage.
  • Parallel Connection: Connect panels in parallel to increase the total current (Current Total = I1 + I2). Ensure the combined current does not exceed your power station's maximum input current.

Note: Cables for parallel connections are not included and must be purchased separately. Always check your solar controller and power station specifications for safe series/parallel connections to avoid damage.

5. Maintenance

Regular maintenance ensures the longevity and optimal performance of your solar panel.

  • Cleaning: Periodically wipe the surface of the solar panel with a soft, damp cloth to remove dust, dirt, or debris. Avoid abrasive cleaners or harsh chemicals.
  • Storage: When not in use, fold the solar panel and store it in a dry, cool place away from direct sunlight and extreme temperatures. The magnetic handle design helps keep the panel securely folded.
  • Inspection: Regularly inspect the panel and cables for any signs of damage, wear, or corrosion. Ensure all connections are secure before each use.

The SOKIOVOLA Portable Solar Panels are constructed with an advanced ETFE lamination process and waterproof dragon dance cloth, providing durability and resistance to various outdoor conditions.
