Introduction
This manual provides detailed instructions for the setup, operation, and maintenance of your Generic Atomic Digital Wall Clock, Model EM3566A. This multi-functional clock features an atomic time synchronization, backlight, indoor temperature and humidity display, dual alarms, and automatic Daylight Saving Time (DST) adjustment. Please read this manual thoroughly before use to ensure proper functionality and to maximize your product experience.
Product Features
- Atomic Time Synchronization: Automatically calibrates time daily via WWVB radio signals from NIST's Colorado.
- Backlight with Night Light: Features a built-in environmental light sensor for automatic low-light backlight, ensuring visibility in the dark. The backlight automatically turns off after 8 seconds.
- Multi-Functional Display: Shows time (12 or 24 hours), date, month, day of week, indoor temperature (℉ or ℃), and humidity.
- Dual Alarms: Set two independent alarms for different schedules.
- Automatic DST Adjustment: Automatically adjusts for Daylight Saving Time.
- Multiple Time Zones: Supports 7 time zones (AST, EST, CST, MST, PST, AKT, HAT).
- Battery Powered: Operates on 2x AAA batteries (not included) with a low battery indicator.
- Versatile Placement: Designed for both wall mounting (hanging hole) and desk placement (stable bracket).
Setup
1. Battery Installation
Locate the battery compartment on the back of the clock. Insert 2 AAA batteries (not included) according to the polarity markings (+/-). The clock will power on automatically.

2. Initial Atomic Time Synchronization
Upon battery installation, the clock will automatically begin searching for the WWVB atomic time signal. This process may take several minutes to several hours, depending on your location and environmental conditions. During signal reception, the atomic signal icon will flash. Once synchronized, the icon will become solid, and the clock will display the correct time, date, and day of the week.

Note: For optimal signal reception, place the clock near a window and away from electronic devices that may cause interference. The screen may remain off during signal reception to avoid interference.
3. Setting Time Zone and DST
After atomic synchronization, you may need to set your local time zone. Refer to the 'Operating Instructions' section for details on adjusting time zone and enabling/disabling Daylight Saving Time (DST).
4. Placement
The clock can be placed on a desk using its stable bracket or mounted on a wall using the integrated hanging hole. Choose a location that provides good visibility and optimal atomic signal reception.
Operating Instructions
The function buttons are located on the back of the clock.
1. Time Display (12/24 Hour Format)
The clock displays time in either 12-hour (with AM/PM indicator) or 24-hour format. Use the designated button (refer to button labels on the back) to toggle between these formats.
2. Setting Alarms
The clock supports two independent alarms. To set an alarm:
- Press the 'ALARM' button to enter alarm setting mode.
- Use the 'UP'/'DOWN' buttons to adjust the hour and minute.
- Press 'ALARM' again to confirm and move to the next alarm or exit setting mode.
- To activate/deactivate an alarm, press the corresponding alarm button (e.g., 'ALARM 1 ON/OFF').

3. Snooze Function
When an alarm sounds, press the 'SNOOZE' button (usually a large button on top or front) to temporarily silence the alarm. The alarm will sound again after a preset interval (typically 5-10 minutes).
4. Temperature and Humidity Display
The clock continuously displays indoor temperature and humidity. To switch between Celsius (℃) and Fahrenheit (℉) for temperature, press the '℃/℉' button.
5. Backlight Operation
The clock features an automatic backlight that activates in low-light conditions. The backlight will automatically turn off after 8 seconds to conserve battery power. There may be a dedicated 'LIGHT' button to manually activate the backlight for a short period.

6. Daylight Saving Time (DST)
The clock automatically adjusts for DST. To manually override or check the DST setting, locate the 'DST' button on the back of the clock. Press it to toggle DST on or off. The DST icon will appear on the display when active.
7. Time Zone Selection
To select your time zone, press the 'TIME ZONE' button (or similar, refer to button labels). Repeatedly press the button to cycle through the available 7 time zones (AST, EST, CST, MST, PST, AKT, HAT) until your desired zone is displayed.
Maintenance
1. Battery Replacement
When the low battery indicator appears on the display, replace the 2 AAA batteries promptly. Remove the old batteries and insert new ones, ensuring correct polarity. The clock will attempt to re-synchronize atomic time after battery replacement.
2. Cleaning
Wipe the clock's surface with a soft, dry cloth. Do not use abrasive cleaners or solvents, as these may damage the display or casing.
Troubleshooting
- Clock not displaying time/blank screen:
Ensure batteries are correctly installed and not depleted. Replace batteries if necessary. - Atomic time not synchronizing:
Move the clock to a location with better signal reception, preferably near a window and away from electronic interference. Allow several hours for synchronization. Manually set the time if atomic synchronization consistently fails. - Display is dim or difficult to read:
Check battery level; low batteries can affect display brightness. Ensure the clock is not placed in direct sunlight, which can wash out the LCD display. The backlight is designed for low-light conditions and automatically turns off after 8 seconds. - Incorrect time displayed after synchronization:
Verify that the correct time zone is selected. Check if DST is correctly enabled or disabled for your region. - Alarm not sounding:
Ensure the alarm is activated (alarm icon visible on display). Check that the alarm volume is not set to minimum (if adjustable) or that the batteries are not low.
