Setup & Installation

The cord reel can be mounted on a wall or ceiling. Ensure the mounting surface is sturdy enough to support the weight of the reel and the tension from the extended cord.

Mounting Steps:

  1. Choose Location: Select a suitable location on a wall or ceiling, ensuring it is within reach of a power outlet for the lead-in cord and allows for the full 180° swivel range.
  2. Mark Drilling Points: Hold the mounting bracket against the chosen surface and mark the positions for the three mounting holes.
  3. Drill Holes: Drill pilot holes at the marked positions. For concrete or masonry, use the expansion screws. For wood studs, use the mounting screws directly.
  4. Secure Bracket: Attach the mounting bracket securely to the surface using the provided screws.
  5. Attach Cord Reel: Slide the cord reel onto the mounted bracket. Ensure it is firmly seated and can swivel freely.
  6. Connect Power: Plug the 4.5 FT lead-in cord into a grounded 125V power outlet.

Operating Instructions

Extending the Cord:

Grasp the triple outlet end of the cord and slowly pull it out to the desired length. The internal locking mechanism will engage at intervals. Once you reach the desired length, stop pulling, and the cord will lock in place.

Retracting the Cord:

To retract the cord, pull it gently until the locking mechanism disengages (you may hear a click). Then, guide the cord slowly back into the reel. Do not release the cord abruptly, as this can cause damage to the reel or the cord.

Adjusting the Stopper:

The adjustable stopper prevents the cord from fully retracting into the reel, keeping the outlets accessible. To adjust its position, loosen the screws on the stopper, slide it to the desired point on the cord, and then tighten the screws firmly.

Using Lighted Triple Outlets:

The triple outlets are equipped with indicator lights that illuminate when power is supplied to the outlets, confirming functionality. Connect your tools and appliances to these outlets, ensuring the total load does not exceed 1250W (10A).

Circuit Breaker Reset:

If the cord reel becomes overloaded, the built-in 10A circuit breaker will trip, cutting off power to the outlets. To restore power:

  1. Unplug all devices from the outlets.
  2. Press the red reset button located on the side of the reel.
  3. Plug in your devices again, ensuring the total load is within the rated capacity.

Maintenance

  • Regular Inspection: Periodically inspect the cord, plug, and outlets for any signs of wear, cuts, or damage. Replace the unit if any damage is found.
  • Cleaning: Wipe the exterior of the cord reel with a dry, soft cloth. Do not use abrasive cleaners or solvents. Ensure the unit is unplugged before cleaning.
  • Storage: When not in use for extended periods, ensure the cord is fully retracted and the unit is stored in a dry, clean environment.
