4. Setup
4.1 Connecting Power
- Locate one of the Type-C power interfaces on the device (either on the side or back panel).
- Connect the provided USB power cable to the Type-C port on the AK1016.
- Connect the other end of the USB power cable to a DC 5V/1A power adapter (not included).
- Ensure the power adapter is plugged into a power outlet. The device will power on and the LED display will activate.
4.2 Connecting Audio Input
The AK1016 supports two types of audio input: 3.5mm AUX and MIC pickup.
4.2.1 3.5mm AUX Input
- Connect one end of the provided 3.5mm audio cable to the AUDIO_IN port on the back of the AK1016.
- Connect the other end of the 3.5mm audio cable to the audio output jack of your source device (e.g., phone, PC, game console).
- If your source device has a combined headphone/microphone jack, use the 1:2 3.5mm audio splitter cable to separate the audio output.
4.2.2 MIC Pickup Input
The device has a built-in microphone for ambient sound pickup. No external connection is required for this mode. Ensure the MIC input is selected in the operating settings if you wish to use this feature.

5. Operating Instructions
The AK1016 features an encoder knob for navigation and adjustments. Press the encoder to enter the menu, and rotate it left or right to adjust values or navigate options.
5.1 Basic Operation
- Power On/Off: The device powers on automatically when connected to a 5V/1A power source. There is no dedicated power button.
- Accessing Menu: Press the encoder knob to display the menu options.
- Adjusting Values: Rotate the encoder knob left or right to change values or select different menu items.
- Exiting Menu: Press the encoder knob again to exit the menu and apply changes.

5.2 Display Modes and Settings
The AK1016 offers various customizable display and audio processing settings:
- Gain Selection: Choose from -20dB, -15dB, -10dB, -5dB, or 0dB to adjust the display sensitivity to the input signal.
- Amplification Curve Settings (5 modes):
- Compress low frequency
- Compress low frequency and enhance high frequency
- Do not amplify (default setting)
- Slightly compress low frequency and enhance high frequency
- Enhance high frequency
- Music Spectrum Modes: Normal mode, Inverted mode, Reverse mode, Amplification curve mode, True output, Smooth output.
- Adjustable Display Items: Main light column descent speed, Peak hold time, Peak descent speed.
- Brightness Adjustment: 8 levels of brightness.
- EQ Settings: The device includes 6 groups of preset EQ data and 10 groups of personal customizable EQ data. Press the encoder to enter DSP mode and adjust EQ settings.
