4. Setup
4.1 Unpacking
- Carefully remove all components from the packaging.
- Remove any protective films or packaging materials from the trash can.
- Place the trash can in your desired location, ensuring it is on a flat and stable surface.
4.2 Inserting Inner Buckets
- Lift the main lid of the trash can.
- Place each removable inner bucket into its respective compartment.

4.3 Installing Liner Bags
- Place a liner bag into an inner bucket.
- Utilize the bag holes/slots on the inner bucket to secure the liner bag in position, preventing slippage.

5. Operating Instructions
5.1 Opening the Lid with Pedal
- To open a compartment, gently step on the corresponding foot pedal. The lid will open smoothly.
- Release the pedal to allow the lid to close softly and silently.

5.2 Keeping the Lid Open (Stay-Open Feature)
- Step on the pedal to open the lid.
- While the lid is open, manually lift it further to a 90° angle until it reaches a catch point and stays open.
- To close, gently push the lid down from the 90° position. It will then engage the soft-close mechanism.

5.3 Waste Sorting
This dual-compartment trash can is designed for efficient waste sorting. Use one compartment for general trash and the other for recyclables.

6. Maintenance
6.1 Cleaning the Exterior
- Wipe the stainless steel exterior with a soft, damp cloth and a mild detergent.
- Dry thoroughly with a clean, soft cloth to prevent water spots.
- The fingerprint-resistant finish helps keep the surface clean.

6.2 Cleaning Inner Buckets
- Remove the inner buckets from the trash can.
- Wash them with warm, soapy water.
- Rinse thoroughly and allow them to dry completely before placing them back into the trash can.
6.3 Liner Bag Replacement
- This trash can is compatible with SONGMICS 8-gallon trash bags (Code H). Standard kitchen bags may also be used.
- Replace liner bags as needed to maintain hygiene.
