3. Setup Guide

Follow these steps for the initial setup of your blood glucose monitor:

  1. Insert Batteries: Open the battery compartment on the back of the monitor and insert the two AAA Alkaline batteries provided.
  2. Prepare Lancing Device:
    • Remove the cap from the lancing device.
    • Insert a new lancet firmly into the lancet holder.
    • Twist off the protective cap from the lancet.
    • Replace the cap on the lancing device.
    • Adjust the penetration depth by rotating the top part of the device. Settings range from 1 (shallowest) to 5 (deepest). Start with a lower setting and adjust as needed for comfortable blood sample collection.
  3. Insert Test Strip: Insert a test strip into the test strip port of the blood glucose monitor. The monitor will automatically turn on and display a prompt for blood application.

4. Operating Instructions

To perform a blood glucose test:

  1. Wash Hands: Thoroughly wash your hands with soap and warm water. Dry them completely.
  2. Obtain Blood Sample: Press the prepared lancing device firmly against the side of your fingertip and press the release button. Gently squeeze your finger to obtain a small drop of blood (approximately 0.7 microliters).
  3. Apply Blood to Strip: Touch the tip of the test strip to the blood sample. The blood will automatically be drawn into the strip. Ensure the confirmation window on the strip is completely filled.
  4. Read Result: The monitor will display the blood glucose reading in mg/dL within 5 seconds.
  5. Eject Strip and Lancet: Use the ejector button on the monitor to safely dispose of the used test strip. For the lancing device, carefully remove the lancet and dispose of it in a sharps container.

6. Memory Function

The monitor automatically stores up to 448 blood glucose readings with date and time. To review past records:

  1. Press the 'M' button to turn on the meter.
  2. Press the 'M' button again; the most recent test result with date and time will display.
  3. Press the 'M' button once more; the next most recent test result will appear. Continue pressing 'M' to scroll through all stored results.
