4. Setup
- Battery Installation: Open the battery compartment on the back of the device and insert one 9V battery, ensuring correct polarity. Close the compartment securely.
- Tube Connection: Connect the provided soft tubes to the manometer's input ports. For single pipe measurement, use one port. For differential pressure, connect tubes to both P1(+) and P2(-) ports as required by your application.
- Power On: Press the Power button to turn on the device.
5. Operating Instructions
5.1 Basic Operation
- Power On/Off: Press the Power button to turn the manometer on or off.
- Unit Selection: Press the UNITS button to cycle through the 12 available pressure units (kPa, psi, Kgcm², ozin², bar, mbar, Pa, inHg, mmHg, inH₂O, ftH₂O, cmH₂O).
- Data Hold: Press the HOLD button to freeze the current reading on the display. Press again to release.
- Differential Mode (DIF): Press the DIF button to enter differential measurement mode, displaying the difference between two pressure inputs.
- Maximum/Minimum Mode (MAX/MIN): Press the MAX button to view the maximum or minimum pressure recorded during a measurement session.
- Zeroing the Meter: To ensure accurate readings, especially for low pressures, the meter can be zeroed. Refer to the "Product Parameter" diagram or the device's display for the "Data Record & Hold & Zero" function. Typically, this involves pressing a specific button (often the "DIF" or "HOLD" button when not actively measuring, or a dedicated "ZERO" button if present) while the device is exposed to ambient pressure, before connecting to the system under test.
- Temperature Display: The device also displays temperature. Use the °C/°F button to switch between Celsius and Fahrenheit.

5.2 Application Examples
The Leaton T168 is versatile for various professional and home applications:
- HVAC System diagnostics
- Air Conditioning & Ventilation System testing
- Clean Room pressure monitoring
- Furnaces & Boilers pressure checks
- Laboratory Testing
- Blower and fan performance assessment

6. Maintenance
- Cleaning: Wipe the device with a soft, dry cloth. Do not use abrasive cleaners or solvents.
- Storage: Store the manometer in its carrying case in a cool, dry place when not in use. Remove the battery if storing for extended periods to prevent leakage.
- Low Battery Reminder: The device will display a low battery indicator when power is running low. Replace the 9V battery promptly to ensure continuous operation and accurate readings.
7. Troubleshooting
| Problem | Possible Cause | Solution |
|---|---|---|
| Display shows "Err 0" | Over Range Indicator | The measured pressure exceeds the device's maximum range. Reduce the pressure or use a device with a higher range. |
| Display shows "Err 1" | Under Range Indicator | The measured pressure is below the device's minimum range. Ensure proper connection and sufficient pressure for measurement. |
