3. Setup Instructions
Follow these steps to set up your Neoteck Dial Indicator Set:
- Position the Base: Securely position the magnetic base on your metal work surface. Ensure the surface is clean and flat for maximum magnetic adhesion. Turn the ON/OFF switch on the magnetic base to the 'ON' position to activate the magnet.
- Install the Indicator: Attach the dial indicator to the flexible arm's clamping mechanism. Tighten the screw to secure the indicator firmly.
- Adjust the Arm: Loosen the locking knob on the flexible arm to adjust its direction and position. Bend the arm to bring the indicator's contact point close to the measurement area.
- Fix the Arm: Once the desired position is achieved, tighten the locking knob on the flexible arm to fix it in place. Ensure the arm is stable and does not move during measurement.

4. Operating Instructions
Operating the Neoteck Dial Indicator for precise measurements:
- Zero Setting: Once the dial indicator is positioned, gently bring the contact point into contact with the surface to be measured. Rotate the outer bezel of the dial indicator until the main needle points to '0'. Use the bezel clamp to lock the dial plate and ensure zero setting.
- Perform Measurement: Move the object or the indicator across the surface to be measured. The main needle will move, indicating the deviation from the zero point. The smaller revolution counter indicates full rotations of the main needle, typically representing 0.1 inch per revolution.
- Read the Measurement: Read the deviation directly from the dial. Each small graduation on the main dial represents 0.001 inch.
- Applications: This dial indicator is suitable for checking flatness, radial runout, concentricity, and measuring hardware sizes in various settings.

5. Maintenance
Proper maintenance ensures the longevity and accuracy of your dial indicator set:
- Cleaning: After each use, wipe the dial indicator and magnetic base with a clean, soft cloth. For stubborn grime, use a mild, non-abrasive cleaner. Avoid harsh chemicals that may damage the finish or internal components.
- Storage: Store the dial indicator set in its portable box in a dry, dust-free environment. Avoid extreme temperatures and humidity.
- Handling: Handle the instrument with care to prevent drops or impacts, which can affect its calibration and accuracy.
- Lubrication: The internal mechanisms are factory-lubricated. Do not attempt to lubricate or disassemble the dial indicator unless you are a qualified technician.

6. Troubleshooting
If you encounter issues with your Neoteck Dial Indicator Set, consider the following:
- Inaccurate Readings:
- Ensure the magnetic base is firmly attached to a stable, sufficiently thick metal surface.
- Verify that the dial indicator is securely clamped to the flexible arm.
- Check for any debris or damage on the contact point or the surface being measured.
- Confirm that the dial has been properly zeroed before taking measurements.
- Magnetic Base Not Holding:
- Ensure the ON/OFF switch is fully in the 'ON' position.
- The magnetic base requires a metal surface with a thickness greater than 30mm to achieve its maximum 176lbs pull force. Thinner materials may result in weaker adhesion.
- Clean the bottom surface of the magnetic base and the work surface to remove any dust or oil that might reduce magnetic grip.
- Flexible Arm Instability:
- Ensure all locking knobs on the flexible arm are tightened securely after positioning.
- Avoid over-extending the arm in ways that create excessive leverage, which can reduce stability.
