4. Setup and Charging

Initial Charging

Before first use, fully charge the device. Connect the provided USB-C cable to the charging port on the straightener and plug the other end into a compatible USB power adapter (not included). A 35W or higher wattage adapter is recommended for optimal charging speed. The LED display will indicate the charging status. A full charge takes approximately 2 hours.

Locking and Unlocking the Plates

The device features a safety lock to keep the plates closed for storage and to prevent accidental activation. There are two locking mechanisms:

1. Plate Lock: A small lever on the side of the device locks the plates together. Slide this lever to the "unlocked" position to open the plates.
2. Child Lock/Power Activation Lock: A separate slide switch, often near the power button, must be in the "unlocked" position to activate the device's power. When this switch is in the "locked" state, the device cannot be turned on.

To Lock: Push the plate lock button to the lock position. Ensure the product is closed before locking. If the product is not closed, do not force the button; slide it to the unlock position, close the product, then slide to lock.

Powering On and Temperature Selection

1. Ensure the device is unlocked (both plate lock and child lock/power activation switch).

Styling Hair

Ensure your hair is clean, dry, and detangled before styling. For best results, divide hair into small sections.

For Straightening:

1. Take a small section of hair and place it between the heating plates, close to the roots.
2. Gently clamp the plates together and glide the straightener slowly down the hair section from root to tip.
3. Repeat until the desired straightness is achieved.

For Curling:

1. Take a small section of hair and clamp it between the plates.
2. Rotate the straightener 180 degrees away from your face, then slowly pull it downwards through the hair section.
3. The rounded edges of the plates will create a curl. Repeat for all sections.

Note: This mini straightener is ideal for touch-ups, bangs, and creating waves or curls. It may not be suitable for full head straightening of very thick or coarse hair due to its compact size and battery life.
