3. Setup

3.1 Unfolding the Gimbal

The gimbal features a foldable design for easy transport. To unfold, gently extend the arms until they lock into position. Ensure all joints are securely in place before use.

3.2 Attaching the Tripod

The included tripod can be screwed into the 1/4-inch standard screw hole at the bottom of the gimbal handle. This allows for stable placement on flat surfaces for hands-free operation.

3.3 Mounting Your Smartphone

  1. Extend the phone clamp on the gimbal.
  2. Carefully place your smartphone into the clamp, ensuring it is centered.
  3. Important: Always center your phone in the clamp before powering on the gimbal to prevent motor strain and ensure proper balancing.

4. Operating Instructions

4.1 Powering On/Off

Press and hold the Power Button for 3 seconds to turn the gimbal on or off. The LED indicators will light up to show the battery level and current mode.

4.2 Controls and Buttons

  • Joystick: Controls the gimbal's pitch and yaw movements. Double press to switch between portrait and landscape orientation.
  • Zoom Wheel: Turn to perform zooming or focusing actions. Single press switches between zoom and focus modes.
  • Mode Button (M): Single press to switch between gimbal functions (PF, F, L, POV, V). Double-click to switch from right to left.
  • Record Button: Single press to switch between video and photo mode. Long press to capture a photo or start video recording. Depending on the current camera, double press switches between front and rear cameras.
  • Trigger Button: Located on the front of the handle. Hold down to reset the gimbal's position.

4.3 Gimbal Modes

  • Pan Follow (PF): The camera pans left and right following your hand movements, while tilt and roll axes are locked.
  • Follow (F): The camera follows your pan and tilt movements, while the roll axis is locked.
  • Lock (L): All three axes (pan, tilt, roll) are locked, keeping the camera pointed in a fixed direction.
  • Point of View (POV): All three axes follow your hand movements, allowing for dynamic, immersive shots.
  • Inception (V): The gimbal rotates the phone 360 degrees along the roll axis, creating a spinning effect.

4.4 AI Smart Tracking & Gesture Control

The VEVOR gimbal features an integrated AI tracking camera, eliminating the need for a separate app for basic tracking functions. This allows for hands-free operation and intelligent subject tracking.

  • Activate Tracking: Use the 'OK' gesture (thumb and index finger forming a circle) in front of the AI tracking camera. The camera will then track your face, body, or a selected object.
  • Start Photo/Video: Use the 'Thumbs-Up' gesture to initiate photo or video capture.
  • Pause Tracking: Use the 'Palm' gesture (open hand facing the camera) to pause tracking.
  • Customize Follow Position: Use the 'Scissor' gesture (index and middle fingers extended) to customize the follow position.
  • Reset Follow Position: Use the 'Six' gesture (thumb and pinky finger extended) to reset the follow position.

4.5 Fill Light

The gimbal includes a magnetic fill light. Press the fill light button to turn it on/off and cycle through brightness levels or color temperatures. This is useful for illuminating your subject in dim environments.

5. Maintenance

5.1 Charging the Gimbal

Connect the included USB-C charging cable to the charging port on the gimbal handle and to a suitable USB power source. The 2600 mAh battery provides up to 4 hours of runtime with the light and AI tracking on, or 7 to 9 hours with the light and face tracking off. A full charge typically takes 3-4 hours.

5.2 Care and Storage

  • Keep the gimbal clean and free from dust and debris.
  • Store the gimbal in a cool, dry place when not in use.
  • Avoid exposing the gimbal to extreme temperatures or moisture.
  • Do not attempt to disassemble the gimbal, as this may void the warranty.

6. Troubleshooting

  • Gimbal not powering on: Ensure the battery is charged. Connect to a power source and try again.
  • Gimbal motor vibrating or not stabilizing: Ensure the smartphone is properly mounted and centered before powering on. Recalibrate the gimbal if necessary (refer to manufacturer's website for calibration instructions).
  • AI tracking not working: Ensure the AI tracking camera is clean and unobstructed. Perform gestures clearly and within the camera's field of view.
  • Unresponsive buttons: Ensure the gimbal is powered on and fully charged. If issues persist, try resetting the gimbal by holding the power button for an extended period (e.g., 10 seconds).
