3. Setup

3.1 Adjusting Headset Tension

The headset tension can be adjusted to ensure a comfortable and acoustically sealed fit. To increase tension, squeeze the eartubes together. To decrease tension, pull them apart. Ensure the eartips are aligned with your ear canals for optimal sound transmission.

3.2 Attaching Eartips

The soft-sealing eartips snap firmly onto the ends of the eartubes. For safety, they require significant effort to remove. Ensure they are securely attached before use.

4.1 Using the Tunable Diaphragm

The tunable diaphragm allows you to hear both low and high-frequency sounds without turning over the chestpiece:

• Low-Frequency Sounds: Apply light pressure to the chestpiece.
• High-Frequency Sounds: Apply firm pressure to the chestpiece.

4.2 Switching Chestpiece Sides

The chestpiece can be rotated to select either the adult or pediatric side. Rotate the stem until the desired side is open for auscultation.

5.1 General Cleaning

Clean your stethoscope regularly to maintain hygiene and performance. The tubing is resistant to skin oils and alcohol. Use a 70% isopropyl alcohol solution or a mild soap and water solution to wipe down the tubing and chestpiece. Ensure all components are dry before storage.

5.2 Eartip Care

Eartips can be removed for thorough cleaning or replacement. Periodically inspect eartips for wear and tear and replace them as needed to maintain an effective acoustic seal.
