The ANNKE 4K PoE Security Camera System provides advanced surveillance capabilities for both home and business environments. This system features an 8-channel Network Video Recorder (NVR) with a pre-installed 2TB surveillance-grade hard drive, paired with six 8MP IP cameras. Before beginning installation, please verify that all items listed below are included in your package:

3. Setup and Installation

3.1 PoE Installation

The ANNKE PoE system simplifies installation by using a single Ethernet cable for both power and video transmission. This eliminates the need for separate power outlets for each camera.

  1. Install Cameras: Mount the cameras in desired locations, ensuring optimal viewing angles and coverage.
  2. Connect Network Cable: Connect one end of the Ethernet cable to the camera and the other end to a PoE port on the NVR. Ethernet cables up to 330ft (100m) are supported.
  3. NVR Connection: Ensure the NVR is powered on and connected to a display via HDMI. Once connected, the cameras should automatically be detected and display video feeds.

3.2 Initial NVR Setup

Upon first power-up, the NVR will guide you through an initial setup wizard. This typically includes setting up a password, configuring network settings, and formatting the hard drive if necessary. Follow the on-screen prompts using the included USB mouse.

4. Operating the System

4.1 Live View and Recording

Once installed, the system provides continuous 24/7 recording to the 2TB surveillance-grade hard drive. You can view live feeds from all cameras simultaneously on a connected monitor.

4.2 Smart AI Detection

4.3 Night Vision Modes

The cameras offer multiple night vision modes to suit different monitoring needs:

  • Black & White Mode: Standard infrared night vision for clear monochrome images in low light.
  • Color Night Vision (Spotlight): When human or vehicle motion is detected, the camera's built-in spotlight activates, providing full-color night vision for enhanced detail.
  • Motion Activated: The system can be configured to activate specific features, like the spotlight, only when motion is detected.

5. Maintenance

5.1 Camera Cleaning

Regularly clean the camera lenses and housings to ensure clear image quality. Use a soft, damp cloth to wipe away dust and debris. Avoid abrasive cleaners that could scratch the lens.

5.3 Hard Drive Management

The 2TB surveillance-grade HDD is designed for continuous recording. The NVR will automatically overwrite the oldest footage when the hard drive is full. You can configure recording schedules and retention policies through the NVR's interface.

6. Troubleshooting

6.1 No Video Display

  • Check Connections: Ensure all Ethernet cables are securely connected between cameras and the NVR. Verify the HDMI cable connection to the monitor.
  • Power Supply: Confirm the NVR is powered on and receiving power.
  • NVR Status: Check the status indicator lights on the NVR. Refer to the NVR's quick start guide for light interpretations.

6.2 No Recording

  • Hard Drive Status: Verify that the 2TB hard drive is properly installed and recognized by the NVR. Check its status in the NVR's menu.
  • Recording Schedule: Ensure recording schedules are correctly configured in the NVR settings.
  • Disk Space: Although the NVR overwrites old footage, ensure there isn't an issue preventing new recordings.

6.3 App Connectivity Issues

  • Network Connection: Ensure your NVR is connected to the internet and your mobile device has a stable internet connection.
  • App Version: Make sure you are using the latest version of the ANNKE Vision app.
  • NVR Settings: Verify that remote access and P2P settings are enabled on your NVR.
