3. Setup

3.1 Unpacking

Carefully remove the air cooler from its packaging. Check for any damage during transit. Ensure all components are present: 1 x Portable Air Conditioner, 1 x Remote Control, Ice Packs, User Manual.

3.2 Base Assembly

The unit requires simple base assembly.

  1. Piece the two halves of the base together.
  2. Align the assembled base with the bottom of the cooler.
  3. Secure the base to the cooler using the provided screws.

3.3 Initial Water Tank Preparation (for Cooling/Humidifying)

For cooling and humidifying functions, the water tank needs to be filled. The unit includes 4 ice packs for enhanced cooling.

  1. For first-time use of ice packs, fill them with water up to the MAX line and shake. Do not overfill.
  2. Place the filled ice packs in a freezer for at least 6 hours until completely frozen.
  3. Open the water tank cover on the unit.
  4. Place the frozen ice packs into the water tank.
  5. Fill the water tank with clean water. Monitor the visible water level indicator.
  6. Close the water tank cover securely.

4. Operating Instructions

The COOLECH JDAC90R can be controlled via the LED touch panel on top of the unit or using the included remote control.

4.1 Power On/Off

  • Press the ON/OFF button on the control panel or remote to turn the unit on or off.

4.2 Adjusting Wind Speed

The unit offers three wind speeds: Low, Medium, and High.

  • Press the SPEED button repeatedly to cycle through Low, Medium, and High settings.

4.3 Selecting Operating Mode

Choose from four modes: Normal, Natural, Sleep, and Cooling.

  • Press the MODE button repeatedly to select your desired mode.
  • Normal Mode: Provides a consistent airflow.
  • Natural Mode: Simulates natural wind by varying fan speeds.
  • Sleep Mode: Gradually decreases fan speed and operates quietly for undisturbed rest.
  • Cooling Mode: Activates the evaporative cooling function, requiring water in the tank.

4.4 Oscillation Function

The unit features a 90° auto-oscillation to distribute air evenly.

  • Press the SWING button to activate or deactivate the oscillation.

4.5 Timer Setting

Set the timer for automatic shut-off from 1 to 12 hours.

  • Press the TIMER button repeatedly to set the desired operating duration. The display will show the selected hours.

5. Maintenance

Regular maintenance ensures optimal performance and longevity of your air cooler.

5.1 Cleaning the Filter and Evaporative Media

The rear grill and honeycomb pad (evaporative media) are detachable for easy cleaning.

  1. Unplug the unit from the power outlet.
  2. Unscrew the screws on the back of the unit to remove the rear grill.
  3. Carefully remove the filter and evaporative media.
  4. Rinse the filter and evaporative media under running water. Do not use water hotter than 110°F (43°C).
  5. Allow both components to dry completely before re-installing.
  6. Re-install the evaporative media and filter, then secure the rear grill with screws.

5.2 Cleaning the Water Tank

It is recommended to clean the water tank once a week.

  • Unplug the unit.
  • Remove the water tank.
  • Clean the inside of the tank with a soft cloth or brush and mild detergent.
  • Rinse thoroughly and ensure no detergent residue remains.
  • Re-install the water tank.

5.3 Storage

Before storing the unit for an extended period:

  1. Drain all water from the tank using the drainage outlet at the bottom of the cooler.
  2. Clean the water tank, filter, and evaporative media as described above.
  3. Ensure all components are completely dry to prevent mold or mildew growth.
  4. Store the unit in a cool, dry place, preferably in its original packaging.

6. Troubleshooting
