4. Setup and Installation
Proper installation is crucial for the optimal performance of the grease distributor block. Follow these guidelines:
- Mounting: Securely mount the distributor block to a stable surface near the lubrication points. Ensure it is easily accessible for inspection and maintenance.
- Inlet Connection: Connect the main lubricant supply line (6mm diameter, M10X1 thread) from the centralized lubrication pump to the inlet port of the distributor block. Ensure all connections are tight to prevent leaks.
- Outlet Connections: Connect individual lubrication lines (6mm diameter, M10X1 thread) from each outlet port of the distributor block to the respective lubrication points on the machinery. Verify that each line is correctly routed and secured.
- Microswitch Connection (if applicable): For models equipped with a microswitch (like the MVB 12 Way with microswitch), connect the microswitch wiring to the lubrication system's control unit. This allows for monitoring of lubrication cycles and fault detection. Refer to your system's control unit manual for specific wiring diagrams.
- System Priming: After all connections are made, slowly prime the lubrication system to fill the lines and the distributor block with grease. Observe for any leaks during this process.

5. Operation
The MVB Series distributor block operates on a progressive principle, meaning that each outlet port dispenses lubricant in a sequential manner. This ensures that all connected lubrication points receive grease before the cycle repeats.
- System Activation: Activate the centralized lubrication pump. The pump will supply pressurized grease to the inlet of the distributor block.
- Progressive Distribution: The internal pistons within the block will move sequentially, dispensing 0.17 ml of grease per cycle from each outlet. This progressive action guarantees that no lubrication point is skipped.
- Monitoring (with Microswitch): If your model includes a microswitch, the control unit will register each complete cycle of the distributor block, allowing for real-time monitoring of lubrication status.
- Flow Adjustment: While the base flow rate is fixed, the overall lubrication frequency can be adjusted via the centralized lubrication pump's settings. Individual outlet flow rates are determined by the block's design.
6. Maintenance
Regular maintenance ensures the continued reliability and performance of your MVB Series grease distributor block.
- Visual Inspection: Periodically inspect the distributor block and all connected lines for any signs of leaks, damage, or corrosion. Address any issues promptly.
- Cleanliness: Keep the exterior of the distributor block clean to prevent dirt and debris from entering the system.
- Lubricant Quality: Ensure that the centralized lubrication system is supplied with the correct type and viscosity of grease as specified (NLGI #000, #00, #0, #1, #2). Using incorrect lubricants can impair performance and cause damage.
- Functionality Check: For models with a microswitch, periodically verify that the microswitch is functioning correctly and reporting cycles to the control unit.
7. Troubleshooting
Refer to the following table for common issues and their potential solutions:
| Problem | Possible Cause | Solution |
|---|---|---|
| No grease dispensed from an outlet. | Blocked lubrication line or lubrication point. | Inspect and clear the affected line or lubrication point. |
| Uneven grease distribution. | Air in the system; incorrect lubricant viscosity. | Bleed the system to remove air; verify lubricant type and viscosity. |
| Grease leakage from connections. | Loose connections; damaged seals or threads. | Tighten connections; replace damaged seals or fittings. |
| Microswitch not registering cycles. | Faulty wiring; microswitch malfunction. | Check wiring connections; test or replace microswitch. |
| System pressure too low. | Insufficient pump pressure; major leak in the system. | Check pump operation; inspect entire system for leaks. |
If troubleshooting steps do not resolve the issue, contact customer support.
