This manual provides detailed instructions for the setup, operation, and maintenance of your Meidase S950 Cellular Trail Camera. The S950 is designed for wildlife monitoring and security applications, featuring 4G LTE connectivity, high-resolution imaging, and app control. Setup

1. Battery Installation

The S950 camera requires 8 AA batteries.

  1. Open the camera's housing latch.
  2. Locate the battery compartment.
  3. Insert 8 AA batteries, ensuring correct polarity (+/-).
  4. Close the battery compartment securely.

2. SIM Card Installation

A pre-installed SIM card is included. Ensure it is properly seated.

  • The camera supports 4G LTE and is compatible with AT&T, Verizon, and T-Mobile networks.
  • The camera will automatically connect to the strongest available signal.

3. SD Card Installation

An SD card (not included) is required to store photos and videos.

  1. Locate the SD card slot inside the camera housing.
  2. Insert a compatible SD card (up to 256GB, Class 10 or higher recommended) with the metal contacts facing the correct direction until it clicks into place.
  3. To remove, press the card gently until it springs out.

4. Antenna Attachment

Screw the provided antenna onto the designated port on top of the camera until it is finger-tight. Ensure it is oriented vertically for optimal signal reception.

5. Mounting the Camera

Use the included mounting strap to secure the camera to a tree or pole.

  1. Thread the strap through the slots on the back of the camera.
  2. Wrap the strap around the mounting surface and secure it tightly.
  3. Adjust the camera angle as needed to cover the desired monitoring area.

6. App Installation and Initial Setup

Download the Meidase mobile app from your device's app store. Follow the in-app instructions to register your camera and activate your data plan.

  • Shared Data Plans: Multiple cameras can be added under a single data plan, pooling data and add-ons for efficient usage.

Operating Instructions

1. Powering On/Off

Use the ON/OFF switch located inside the camera housing to power the device.

2. Basic Settings (via 2.4" Screen)

The camera features a 2.4-inch color screen for initial configuration.

  • Navigate menus using the directional buttons.
  • Adjust settings such as date/time, photo/video mode, resolution, and trigger interval.

3. App Control and Features

The Meidase mobile app provides comprehensive control and access to camera features.

  • 4G LTE Connectivity: Enables remote access and instant transmission of media.
  • 48MP Photos & 1296P HD Videos: Capture high-resolution images and videos.
  • Photo & Video Previews: Receive 960x540 photo previews and 3-300 second silent video previews directly to the app.

4. Viewing Media

Captured photos and videos can be accessed in three ways:

  • Meidase App: View previews and download full files directly to your smartphone.
  • SD Card: Remove the SD card and insert it into a card reader on a computer.
  • USB Cable: Connect the camera to a computer using the provided USB cable to access the SD card contents.

5. Night Vision

The S950 utilizes 940nm no-glow infrared LEDs for discreet night vision, invisible to animals and humans. This ensures monitoring without disturbing wildlife or alerting intruders.

6. Trigger Speed and Detection

The camera features a 0.1s ultra-fast trigger speed and a 120° wide detection angle, achieved through 3 PIR sensors, to capture motion effectively.

Maintenance

1. Battery Replacement

Replace all 8 AA batteries when the battery indicator on the camera or app shows low power. Using high-quality alkaline or rechargeable batteries is recommended for extended operation.

2. SD Card Management

Regularly check the SD card capacity. Format the SD card periodically (after backing up important data) to maintain optimal performance and prevent data corruption.

3. Cleaning

Gently clean the camera lens and PIR sensors with a soft, dry cloth to ensure clear images and proper motion detection. Avoid abrasive materials or harsh chemicals.

4. Weather Protection

The Meidase S950 is IP66 rated, making it dust-tight and weatherproof. It is designed to withstand various outdoor conditions, including rain and snow, with an operating temperature range of -4°F to 140°F (-20°C to 60°C).
