4. Setup

4.1 Charging the Radio

The F710 radio features a Type-C USB charging port for convenience. Use the provided USB cable and power adapter to charge the device. A full charge typically takes 3 hours. The Lithium Polymer battery provides approximately 12 hours of continuous work time and up to 48 hours of standby time.

  • Connect the Type-C end of the USB cable to the radio's Type-C interface.
  • Connect the other end of the USB cable to the power adapter, a computer USB port, a power bank, or a car charger.
  • The indicator light will show charging status.

4.2 Programming the Radio

The F710 is PC programmable. A USB programming cable is included for this purpose. Programming software is required and can be downloaded from the manufacturer's website: hldradio.com/download/1.html.

5. Operating Instructions

5.1 Power On/Off

  • To power on, long press the Power/Menu/Confirmation Key.
  • To power off, long press the Power/Menu/Confirmation Key again.

5.2 Transmitting and Receiving

  • To transmit, press and hold the PTT Key on the side of the radio. Speak clearly into the microphone. The indicator light will turn red.
  • To receive, release the PTT Key. The indicator light will turn green when a signal is being received.

5.3 Volume Adjustment

  • Short press the Volume+ Key to increase the volume.
  • Short press the Volume- Key to decrease the volume.

5.4 Channel Selection

  • Short press the Channel+ Key to move to the next channel.
  • Short press the Channel- Key to move to the previous channel.

5.5 Digital and Analog Mode Switching

The F710 supports both digital (DMR) and analog modes. The mode can be configured via programming or, in some cases, directly on the device depending on the specific channel settings. The LED display will indicate the current mode (D for Digital, A for Analog).
