Setup

Connectivity Modes

The K98 keyboard supports three connectivity modes: Bluetooth 5.0, 2.4GHz wireless, and USB wired. You can seamlessly switch between devices such as tablets, laptops, and phones.

1. Bluetooth Mode

To connect via Bluetooth:

1. Short press Fn + 1/2/3 to select a Bluetooth channel (BT1, BT2, or BT3).
2. Long press Fn + 1/2/3 for 3 seconds to enter pairing mode. The Bluetooth indicator will flash rapidly.
3. On your device, search for "K98" in the Bluetooth settings and connect. The indicator will stop flashing once connected.

2. 2.4GHz Wireless Mode

To connect via 2.4GHz wireless:

1. Long press Fn + 4 to enter 2.4GHz pairing mode. The 2.4G indicator will flash rapidly.
2. Plug the 2.4G receiver into a USB port on your computer. The connection will be successful once the indicator stops flashing.

3. USB Wired Mode

To connect via USB wired mode:

1. Press Fn + 5 to enter wired mode. A flashing prompt will appear.
2. Connect the keyboard to your computer using the provided Type-C data cable.

Adjustable Kickstands

The keyboard features 2-tilt adjustable kickstands for ergonomic comfort, allowing you to set your preferred typing angle.

Operating Instructions

RGB Backlighting

The K98 keyboard features 16 million RGB colors and 7 light effects. You can customize the lighting to your preference.

• To turn on/off the backlight: Press Fn + \.
• To change backlight effect: Press Fn + Insert.
• To adjust backlight brightness: Press Fn + PgUp (increase) or Fn + PgDn (decrease).
• The rotary knob can also be used to adjust light brightness and speed (default mode).

Rotary Multi-Media Knob

The multi-media knob provides quick access to brightness/volume control.

• In RGB Mode (default): Turn the knob to adjust brightness. Short press to switch backlight color.
• In Multimedia Mode (Fn + Knob): Turn the knob to adjust volume (+/-). Short press to mute/unmute volume.

Maintenance

Battery Charging

The K98 keyboard is equipped with a 4000mAh battery and supports USB-C charging. To charge, connect the provided Type-C cable to the keyboard and a power source.

The battery icon on the Logo screen scrolls when charging and shows four full grids when fully charged. The keyboard offers approximately 24 hours of use with RGB backlight on and up to 70 hours with no RGB backlight.

General Care

• Keep the keyboard clean by wiping it with a soft, dry cloth.
• Avoid exposing the keyboard to extreme temperatures or direct sunlight.
• The keyboard features a spill-resistant design, but it is recommended to avoid liquid exposure to prevent damage.

Troubleshooting

Connection Issues

• If the keyboard does not connect, ensure it is in the correct pairing mode (Bluetooth, 2.4GHz, or Wired) as described in the Setup section.
• For 2.4GHz mode, ensure the USB dongle is securely plugged into your device.
• For Bluetooth mode, ensure Bluetooth is enabled on your device and the keyboard is discoverable. Try re-pairing if necessary.
• If using wired mode, ensure the Type-C cable is properly connected to both the keyboard and the computer.

Battery Draining Rapidly

• High brightness RGB backlighting consumes more power. Reduce brightness or turn off RGB when not needed to extend battery life.
• Ensure the keyboard is fully charged before use.
• If the issue persists, try using the keyboard in wired mode to rule out wireless power consumption.

Unclear Keycap Markings

• The K98 features shine-through side-printed PBT keycaps. Ensure the RGB backlight is on and adjusted to an appropriate brightness level for optimal visibility.
• In low-light conditions, increasing backlight brightness will improve the clarity of the keycap markings.

Knob Not Controlling Volume

• The knob has two modes: RGB control (default) and Multimedia control.
• To switch to Multimedia Mode for volume control, press Fn + Knob.
