Charge the motor unit fully before initial use. Connect the USB cable to the charging port on the motor unit and to a suitable power source. The indicator light will show charging status. A full charge typically takes approximately 2 hours.

Figure 4: Diagram illustrating the 4 modes and 19 progressive suction levels of the KISSBOBO K5 breast pump, designed for optimal comfort and milk flow.
  • Massage Mode: Stimulates the breast with a gentle, rapid rhythm to encourage milk let-down. This mode is ideal for use before expression to prepare the breast.
  • Let-down Mode: Mimics a baby's natural sucking rhythm to promote a steady milk flow. Use this mode for 2-3 minutes after massage mode until milk flow becomes regular.
  • Expression Mode: This is the main extraction phase, providing deeper and stable suction for efficient milk removal. Use this mode for approximately 10-15 minutes per breast once milk flow is established, adjusting to your comfort.
  • Automatic Mode: Alternates automatically between Massage, Let-down, and Expression modes for an intelligent, simplified pumping experience. This mode starts at level 6 by default and is not recommended for first-time users.

5.3 Pumping Session Guidelines

  1. Apply a warm compress to the breast a few minutes before pumping to help relax the breast and encourage milk flow.
  2. Gently massage the breast to stimulate milk production and reduce discomfort.
  3. Begin your session in Massage Mode for 2-3 minutes to initiate let-down.
  4. Once milk begins to flow, switch to Expression Mode, pumping for 10-15 minutes per breast or as comfortable.
  5. If milk flow slows during expression, alternate between Massage Mode and Expression Mode to improve flow and efficiency.

5.4 Automatic Shut-off

The KISSBOBO K5 is equipped with an automatic shut-off feature. The pump will automatically stop after 20 minutes of continuous operation. This feature helps prevent discomfort from prolonged pumping and conserves battery life.

6. Cleaning & Maintenance

Regular and thorough cleaning is essential to maintain hygiene, ensure optimal performance, and prolong the lifespan of your KISSBOBO K5 Electric Breast Pump.

6.1 Disassembly for Cleaning

After each use, carefully separate all components that come into contact with breast milk: the milk collector cup, silicone flange, diaphragm, and duckbill valve.

6.2 Cleaning Instructions

  • Washable Parts: Immediately after each use, wash all disassembled parts (milk collector cup, silicone flange, diaphragm, and valve) with warm soapy water. Use a soft brush if necessary to remove any milk residue. Rinse thoroughly with clean water.
  • Motor Unit: The motor unit should NOT be immersed in water. Wipe its surface with a clean, dry, or slightly damp cloth.

6.3 Sterilization

All washable parts (excluding the motor unit) can be sterilized. You can boil them in water for no more than 100°C (212°F). Ensure that the parts do not touch the bottom or sides of the pot to prevent damage.

6.4 Drying & Storage

Allow all cleaned and sterilized parts to air dry completely before reassembling or storing. Store the pump in a clean, dry place away from direct sunlight and extreme temperatures.
