For use in noisy environments, connect the included earphone to the 3.5mm earphone jack on the Receiver unit.

6. Operating Instructions

6.1 General Wire Tracing

To locate and trace buried or concealed wires:

  1. Connect the Transmitter: Connect the red alligator clip of the Transmitter to the wire you wish to trace. Connect the black alligator clip to a suitable ground point (e.g., a ground rod, a neutral line, or another known ground). Ensure a secure connection.
  2. Power On: Turn on both the Transmitter and Receiver units.
  3. Adjust Signal Strength: Use the signal adjustable button on the Transmitter to set an appropriate signal strength. Start with a lower setting and increase if the signal is too weak.
  4. Scan with Receiver: Hold the Receiver unit with the signal probe pointing towards the ground or wall where the wire is suspected.
  5. Follow the Signal: Move the Receiver slowly along the suspected path of the wire. The signal strength indicator LEDs and the audio feedback (if earphones are used) will increase in intensity as you get closer to the wire.
  6. Pinpoint Location: The strongest signal indicates the precise location of the wire.

6.2 Non-Invasive Breakpoint Detection

To locate a breakpoint in a cable without damaging its insulation:

  1. Connect the Transmitter: Connect the Transmitter to one end of the cable where the break is suspected, similar to general tracing. Ensure the other end of the cable is disconnected or open.
  2. Power On and Adjust: Turn on both units and adjust the Transmitter's signal strength.
  3. Scan for Signal Loss: Move the Receiver along the cable path. The signal will be strong and consistent before the breakpoint.
  4. Identify Breakpoint: When the Receiver passes over the breakpoint, the signal strength will significantly decrease or disappear entirely. The point where the signal drops is the location of the break.
