1. Setup

1.1 Unboxing and Initial Inspection

1.2 Front Wheel Installation

Carefully lift the front of the bike. Align the front disc rotor with the brake caliper. Slide the wheel axle into the fork dropouts. Ensure the locking tang washer is correctly positioned into the fork. Secure both axle nuts firmly using the provided 15mm wrench. Do not overtighten.

1.3 Handlebar Setup

Loosen the top cap bolt and the two side bolts on the handlebar stem. Rotate the stem 180 degrees so it faces forward. Align the handlebar stem precisely with the front wheel. Tighten the top cap bolt first to snug it down, then firmly tighten the two side bolts to secure the stem in place. Ensure the handlebars are straight and do not move.

1.4 Pedal Installation

Identify the left (L) and right (R) pedals. The left pedal has a reverse thread. Carefully thread the left pedal counter-clockwise into the left crank arm. Thread the right pedal clockwise into the right crank arm. Use the provided wrench to tighten both pedals securely, but do not overtighten.

1.5 Fender and Headlight Installation

Attach the front fender to the fork using the designated mounting points. The headlight mounts to the same bolt as the front fender. Ensure both are securely fastened and do not interfere with wheel rotation or steering. The headlight can be slightly adjusted for optimal beam direction.

1.6 Initial Battery Charge

Locate the charging port on the bike's frame. Connect the charger to the port and then to a power outlet. The battery typically takes 6-8 hours for a full charge. Ensure the battery is fully charged before your first ride for optimal performance and longevity.

2.2 Display Functions

The digital display provides essential riding information including current speed (MPH), trip distance, odometer, and Pedal Assist System (PAS) level. Use the '+' and '-' buttons on the left control panel to adjust PAS levels.

2.3 Pedal Assist (PAS) Modes

The MOVCAN EB60 offers 5 levels of pedal assist. Higher PAS levels provide more motor assistance, reducing the effort required for pedaling and increasing speed. Lower PAS levels conserve battery life and extend riding range. Experiment with different levels to find your preferred balance of assistance and exercise.

2.4 NFC Unlock System

The bike is equipped with an NFC (Near Field Communication) unlock system for enhanced security. To unlock the bike, simply tap the provided NFC card near the display. A 'P' icon on the screen indicates the bike is locked. Tapping the card again will unlock it and restore full display functionality.

2.5 Speed and Range

The EB60 can reach a top speed of up to 35 MPH. The 48V 20.8AH hidden removable battery provides a range of 30 miles in electric-only mode and up to 70 miles with pedal assist, depending on terrain, rider weight, and PAS level usage.

3. Maintenance

3.1 General Care

Regularly clean your bike with a damp cloth and mild soap. Avoid using high-pressure washers directly on electrical components. Lubricate the chain periodically to ensure smooth operation and prevent rust.

3.2 Battery Care

To maximize battery lifespan, charge it regularly and avoid completely draining it. Store the battery in a cool, dry place when not in use, and avoid extreme temperatures. The battery is IP54 waterproof, but prolonged exposure to heavy rain or submersion should be avoided.

3.3 Tire Pressure

Maintain proper tire pressure for optimal performance and safety. The 26x4 inch fat tires are rated for 20 PSI. Check the pressure before each ride and inflate as needed. Correct tire pressure improves traction, ride comfort, and battery efficiency.

4. Troubleshooting

4.1 Common Issues

  • Bike not turning on: Check if the battery is properly seated and charged. Ensure the battery's on/off switch is in the 'on' position.
  • Motor not engaging: Verify that a Pedal Assist (PAS) level is selected on the display. Ensure the throttle is engaged if using throttle-only mode. Check brake levers are not partially engaged.
  • Reduced range: This can be due to riding at higher PAS levels, frequent use of the throttle, riding uphill, or low tire pressure. Ensure tires are inflated to recommended PSI.
  • Brakes squealing or not effective: Inspect brake pads for wear. Clean rotors if dirty. If issues persist, professional adjustment may be required.
  • Display not working: Check all cable connections to the display. If the issue persists, contact customer support.
